I bought this to do another round of bodywork on my old rusty pickup, but have abandoned that project since I got a new truck. However, I did a dry run on the fender and the scribe worked much better than the square and pencil I used first round. I have found this device generally useful for scribing along wood and metal edges when cutting from sheet stock. It is a little fiddly to get initially adjusted but once set rolls smoothly to trace out offsets from edges (straight and curved). Probably not worth the cost just for that, but I already own it so handy to have around. ... show more

The tube that holds the pen isn't attached very well to the rest of the tool. I couldn't tighten it enough to get it to stay so I added some red loctite. The nuts that hold the 2 nylon rollers also kept coming loose, so those got loctite also. Now it works ok, but do you really want to spend your time fixing a tool before you can use it? ... show more
