The sides are sturdy and I can adjust the size to hold a specific item such as a vase of flowers to take to grandma etc. It looks waterproof at the bottom. I absolutely love this product it’s not too big and bulky and still leaves a lot of room in the back of my car. It’s very great for storing multiple things, very spacious and if it’s perfectly in the trunk of my car or in the back floorboard and still leaves lots of feet room!
