  • It worked really well
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
This is a very good bag. I drove this in June from Fairbanks Alaska (I was living in Delta Junction) to Buffalo NY. I traveled 5040 miles through the Yukon and British Columbia, I went down the coast to Vancouver, and a small town near the border of Washington and past Seattle, stayed in Portland, Oregon, then came home on the I- 90 all the way from Washington State to Buffalo, NY. Because I went down the coast, I added 1000 miles to my trip. NOTHING INSIDE MY ROOFBAG got wet. Now it did rain, because I was on the road for 2 weeks. It poured some days and drizzled all day on others. Because I have a Buick Encore GX you can't put the straps through or under the rails on the top of the car, so I had to put them through the car doors. That caused the straps to wick water into my car at times. I'm still giving this 5 stars because for some reason it didn't drip on my head lol through the front straps only the back ones. Plus, if I'd had my VW Tiguan, this wouldn't have happened because the straps would have been on the outside of the car. My friend did it for me and tied it down for me, because I broke my wrist and I was unable to do it. I am a procrastinator so I drove around Buffalo with that roof bag on top of my car for 2 weeks, it was very stable. I drive fast usually 80 -90 miles/hour, which you can easily do in Montana and Wyoming. But even in mountainous, curvy British Columbia and Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon and all over, it firmly stayed in place. I only heard whistling a few times when I didn't wrap the straps up. This is a good bag. Also no bugs got inside it and NO DIRT. Trust me when I say Alaska and the Yukon are especially dry and dusty. I still have that dirt and dust on my car! lol (by the way, I also bought stretchy screens for my back windows to keep the bugs out, which worked for the most part). I highly recommend this bag. I was a bit worried, but 5000 miles through mountains and hills and curves while I'm flying/fast driving and it performed and held up great. It's really thick! I bought the smaller bag which fit perfectly on my small SUV (the GX is slightly bigger than the regular Encore) and I was able to fit 2 small suitcases (not the tiny ones either) plus other bags in it. I stuffed that joint. Because I had a lot of stuff. I think I could have gotten those rails that go across the top of your car sideways that attach to the siderails, but I didn't want to pay for those. Oh and I have a sunroof, I used the protective mat and I haven't seen any damage or scratches to my car. Plus the sunroof works fine after all that weight that was on top of it. Probably 80-100lbs I saw a lot of these bags on the road!! ... show more

  • Really great roof bag. Clips work perfectly on Honda Element
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
I got the smaller of the two, and if I had to do it over, I might get the larger one despite the drag on fuel efficiency. Of the three roof bags that I bought this is by far the most sturdy and waterproof. It was a breeze to get on the roof. It’s pretty easy to zip up and the straps and clips work perfectly. I was on the highway and through hills and wind for 10 hours and had no problems. ... show more

  • Solid option for travel while moving cargo to the roof
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
I got the soft, bag version and it's a nice tough bag. Solid waterproofing to keep your cargo dry. Solidly made strap to tie it down. Nice little bag to try and get it back into when you are done (good luck...). That's really the biggest complaint I had - the storage bag).

  • Travelled with for Three Thousand Miles across the Country
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
I have a subcompact car and it fit fine. It was mostly easy to use. As long as we did our part, I had no issues. Only negative was the slip mat moved around. I highly recommend using nano tape to hold the slip mat down. Also, I would go up in a size next time. Sometimes the zipper is a little sticky around the corner. The lock it comes with it is flimsy, so buy another one, but all in all, I'm happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Solid product - Arrived quickly and was easy to install
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
Needed some extra storage space for a trip to SC for Thanksgiving. Drive was 7+ hours and we didn't want to all be crammed in our mid-size SUV like usual so gave this car top carrier a shot. It fit 4 regular size bags, 3 beach chairs, footballs/lacrosse sticks, and our beach toys very comfortably. It was easy to install and take down as well. Drove 8 hours home in a constant rain and assumed our stuff would be soaked when I unloaded it. Wrong. Everything was bone dry. Follow this installation instructions, zip it up, and fold over to Velcro shut the storage bag. Anybody who leaves a review complaining about their stuff being wet didn't follow the instructions correctly. No offense. ... show more

  • Great investment
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
Worked well! No wear and tear when traveling. Waterproof , just make sure it is not raining or snowing when your packing up and no water will get in . Very sturdy . Survived rain, snow and heavy winds and did not get my things wet and did not budge during my entire trip . Drove over 1200 miles with this baby strapped up. This is worth what you pay for it. Just be careful of what you decide to pack in it , I did not put anything too heavy inside the bag , so I am not sure how it will do with heavy things. ... show more

  • Great car top carrier
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
We just finished a 19 hr trip from KC to Tampa and had no issues. We had some rain along the way and maybe a little moisture inside but everything was in shrink bags so no issues. It was east to attach to the roof rails and stable throughout the trek!!

  • Awesome cargo carrier
Size: Black-15 Cubic Feet
If it wasn’t for this we would have had to rent a car for our most recent trip. Went through a rainstorm and everything remained dry and it was easy to set up.
