I own a Toyota Rav4 and these rails fit perfectly on the already installed roof side rails that I have. Installing these roof racks were really easy and straightforward. Plus, inside, it came with a hex wrench. The grooves in these side rails made it really easy to install and once they're secured and locked in place, these things never move. Even when I attach whatever I'm packing on my roof, these bars don't move from where I have them installed at. What's really convenient is that if I need to move the racks closer or further apart, I'm able to do so but unlocking and then locking them back in place. Even when I have nothing on them, I don't feel any resistance when I'm driving. I will say that these will not work on vehicles that have the side rails that are flush to their car, which mine are not, they are lifted. I mention this because my other vehicle does have them flush and they do not work on that one. ... show more

Great value for price. All parts very well manufactured. Design is excellent: Metal clamping mechanism connects the car roof rail to crossbar in a well thought out, solid way. Assembled and installed everything in 20 minutes, in the rain ;)

These cross bars look great on my vehicle. They are fairly easy to install, and come with two sets of different hooks depending on the type of rails your vehicle has. Each mounting point has a lock, so it's very secure. There is some slight wind noise at certain speeds, but not enough to be intrusive. What I like best about these bars is that they are completely flat. This makes it so much easier to attach various add-ons, like bicycle mounts or a roof basket. Nowadays a lot of factory roof bars are curved. My experience is that these are mostly for show only and are not very useful. They are fixed in place and you can't slide them back and forth, making it difficult or impossible to attach a roof basket without a lot of modifications. My opinion is that flat cross bars are the way to go, and I'm glad I got these. ... show more

It's quite ingenious that the design can be adjusted. The first time I did it, I believe it took me about half an hour to get everything in place and fastened, but now I can put them on or take them off in a matter of minutes. Considering that I don't want to have to deal with the additional wind noise during my daily commute, this is, in my opinion, a significant advantage. I don't want to leave them on all the time. The fact that they are so quiet even while traveling at highway speeds was a nice surprise to me. It is true that there is a little whistling sound, but it is not the thunderous roar that I had anticipated hearing. Even without turning the volume up to its highest setting, I am still able to carry on a conversation or listen to my podcast. The load capacity of 200 pounds is not to be taken lightly. Without any problems, I was able to pack up my 70-pound kayak, along with some camping equipment and a pair of mountain bikes. Despite the fact that I am speeding down the interstate, the bars have a rock-solid feel about them. There are no creaks or wobbles; there is just peace of mind. ... show more

I got this for my son's Dodge Journey. He's very active outdoors, and wanted to be able to transport our kayak, cargo carrier, and other gear. The rack fit his vehicle perfectly, is very solid, and the locking end caps work smoothly and lock securely. Installation was quick and easy, taking only about half an hour, working by myself. When installing the correct hooks to the end brackets, I recommend sliding the brackets off as to visually ensure the long bolts are threading in properly, as it is at an angle and the internal threaded barrel does spin.
