I purchased the Smart Car Jump Starter Model B03, to help jump start a friends car and to have it for me just in case. First it shipped fast and packaged securely and airtight with no damage. It’s compact yet powerful, easily fitting in my car without taking up too much space. Fortunately I haven’t had to use it more than a couple times on my friend’s car before he broke down and he got a new battery. It jumped my friend’s car quickly each time. The added USB ports and flashlight are nice bonuses. It’s straightforward to use, and the safety features give me confidence. Overall, the B03 is a reliable and handy tool to have in your car. If you were like me before having the set of jumper cables from like 1972 that my dad gave me, which only are good if you find someone else to jump you without getting jumped yourself in the process.     • Must Have when off the Grid
I got this powerful car Jumper mainly for when my job requires to be in the woods out of the grid for days at the time, well I took it with me for four days and it was perfect!, My main interest was the 2 usb ports, flash light, C port and a powerful battery. This battery didn't let me down at all!, I was able to run my Laptop when needed for 4 days as well as two LED lamps, a Printer , scanner and charged my 2 phones. Everything charged or works smoothly and the Battery never died completely, I know most reviews are about the Jump start capability and even I never needed this feature it was a peace of mind knowing I have it and now after charging it is permanently in my Truck. To be sure I will keep it and that the Jumpstart feature was working once I was back home a disconnected the positive cable of my F350 Truck and plugged the Jump Starter and the Truck started right away as it have a new battery installed with no hesitation. Also for the power it has a find it to be in the medium size range and comfortable to handle. oh! and also the flashlight was very bright and powerful, very handy when walking or looking for stuff at night, very please with it and a keeper. ... show more

This style of ultra-portable jump starter has been gaining popularity recently, and it's not hard to see why. They are compact, powerful, and fairly simple to use. I do not think however that this product is appropriate for use in a professional setting such as roadside assistance or tow service. For example the "short circuit protection" consists of a line in the user manual warning the operator to make sure not to connect the clamps backwards. There appears to be no physical safeguard against improper connection. Other listed cautions that tell me this isn't ideal for heavy duty use include the need to wait 1 minute between attempts, the urgency of removing the clamps within 30 seconds of starting the engine, and having to wait 30 minutes before plugging the unit into a charger (to "let the battery cool down"). As far as I know, these cautions are not present in "pro grade" jump starters such as the Noco Genius line, and certainly not with "old school" tech such as the JNC660. This unit also does not include a 12V power outlet charging plug, which would be a no-brainer for a jump pack meant for professional use. The only charger included is a USB-C to USB-A cord, so technically you could just charge this like you charge your phone. But again, that's not normally a hallmark of a pro-grade tool. While it may seem like this review is a little heavy-handed with the message, a lot of guys are getting into the roadside assistance field right now and I could easily see someone being attracted to a model like this one thinking it could be a low-cost way to get your foot in the door. But at the end of the day this would be like a contractor showing up to a high-end kitchen remodel with power tools from Lowe's. It's good enough for homeowners, but a professional should be looking elsewhere. That being said, I do feel this jump box is good enough for "homeowners." If you want to grab this just to keep in the trunk for an emergency, by all means go ahead. There's no need for people in the consumer market to feel compelled to spend $300+ when a tool like this one can be had for a fraction of the cost. Just read the manual carefully (I'm serious; please read the manual) and know your limitations. I actually will be taking this with me in the service truck just to get a feel for how it performs, with the obvious caveat that I have better tools to fall back on if there's an issue. Should I discover anything particularly impressive or particularly concerning, I'll be sure to report back in a timely manner. UPDATE 9/25/24 i discovered that if you "double-click" the power button the LED flashlight will enter an "emergency mode" that displays alternating red and blue lights (see photos). I found this function by accident and I don't recall seeing it in the manual. Entering regular flashlight mode simply requires a single long-press of the power key, with subsequent short-presses cycling through steady on, strobe, and SOS Morse code. I still don't think this jump pack is appropriate for professional roadside assistance use given the limitations. However, it has started each car I've used it with so far. Every jump has been on a full charge, with the exception of yesterday when I used it to start a dead Civic hybrid, and then two hours later, without having recharged the pack, jumped a 1980s BMW 5-series. This left my jump box around 70% charge, and even without the warning in the manual about waiting 30 minutes before connecting the pack to a charging cable, the low state of charge and necessary downtime to bring it back would have created a conflict if I had another jump start call land on my desk. However, from what I've seen so far, I don't think this is necessarily a bad choice for a mechanic to keep in the shop for occasional use, or a motorist to carry in their car for emergencies. I will continue to use this pack in my work in order to see if there are any glaring issues. ... show more
