Since I don't drive my car a lot, the battery seems to die quite often. A couple weeks ago, I asked a neighbor for a jump start and he has a portable jump starter as well (a different brand). It worked so well, I decided to get one for myself. After reading the reviews on the J1200 vs the J2000, I decided the 1200 was probably enough for my needs. Yesterday I went out to start my car and the battery was dead again. I hadn't taken this out of the package yet or read the instructions, so I asked my neighbor again for a jump start. His jump starter was not successful in starting my car unfortunately so I thought maybe it was something else this time. I called AAA for a tow and while waiting decided to try my new J1200 just to see. What do you know!!! The car started right up! My neighbor was stunned because he has never had a problem starting his car with his jump starter. So I called AAA and cancelled the tow. The J1200 was only at 75% charge right out of the package and still had no trouble starting my car. The LED flashlight/strobe light/SOS light works really well too and the fact that you can charge devices on this as well is a bonus that I may have to use during hurricane season if we lose power. The price is great too and it's super light, compact and portable. I highly recommend this product! Update: A neighbor is taking care of a car for an out of town resident. The car hasn't been driven enough and the battery was totally dead. She tried to jump start the battery with her car and it didn't work. I hooked up the J1200, pushed the "boost" button and after a few cranks, it started right up. Only brought the charge down to 75%. I love this thing! ... show more

I bought 2000amp, paid tregular price $90.95 Feb 2024. But now I see it is advertising regular $139 on sale $84. Goofy pricing. I kept it in my car. I live in florida, was concerned about leaving It in a hot car, but nothing bad happened. A few months later I used it on my car battery that died, started my car right away so it worked perfectly. Directions to jump start are easy. After jump start the battery went down to 75%. The instructions to charge the battery are wrong. Instructions say to charge through the C input. But instructions show diagram of the DC output, not C input, see attached picture. ... show more

I am one of those people that research the heck out of everything which is why several people I know copy what I buy lol I spent hours looking at products and reading reviews, and this one seemed to have most of what I thought was good, especially after reading reviews of people that are mechanics or work with cars or by auction cars and are constantly trying to start them and move them around. One of the things I took away from the reviews is it’s nice to have it plugged directly into the charger and not have that extra little box in between that could cause issues at some point. Then there’s the issue and fear of overheating , this one has so many safety features that I think you can feel pretty safe the clamps are heavy duty, and it comes in a very nice hard case unlike some of the other ones. I like that it has an on and off button because one review I read another charger did not and the person thought that was good, but to always have it in some kind of ready mode sounds dangerous to me. Some of the other chargers people had problems with the boost button if it even came with one that it was a small button that was hard to access or push in. This has it right on the top and the indicators that let you know if you need to use it. The case has a carrying handle, the charger has a carrying handle and a hook and a stand. There’s nothing not to like. It came in 75% charged and went to 100 in no time. There was almost no detectable heat at all given off during the charging. They do have a lesser model (a 2000) but it has that in between box connector that I didn’t want, from what I read I think direct connection is best. Peace of mind since my Toyota continually draws from the battery as they do (2009 4Runner) used to be dead after about five days of not driving. Then I got a better battery than the AAA kind that’s lasts 2.5 yrs and can still strand you right after driving. I believe it was called EFG that is more powerful and I can easily go a week and a half without driving it. I have not pushed it past that but that battery also changed my life. Now I’m set and I don’t think I will be stranded anywhere! ... show more

I hav to say I was very skeptical about buying this product. I have a big SUV and it started my battery with no problem. It’s very compatible, affordable, and durable for the price. It’s the best feeling in the world knowing I do not need to wait for someone to give me a jump anymore.
