  • Flares Steel Lines Perfectly On The Car
Style: 3/16 in. Dual Head Flaring Tool Pattern Name: Flaring Tool
If you have been struggling to flare steel lines on your car using the cheap bar clamp-style tube flaring tools, this is what you have been looking for. Many other tools like this only handle "soft steel", aluminum, nickel-copper alloy, or other soft metals. Often, the OEM lines in the car are steel. I mangled the OEM brake line installed on my car so many times trying to get a DIN bubble flare with the cheap tool. This gave me a perfect DIN bubble flare the first time, on the car. Note that I prepped the line by both reaming and deburring the end to be flared before using this tool. The die/head of the tool is weighty and substantive. The threaded connection between the handle and the die is probably an M12 or M14; it is very sturdy and will handle the stresses of you cranking on the arbor to form the flare. It's easy to set up. One of the bolts screws in in place of the arbor and sets the depth of the line perfectly. The three 10mm bolts hold the two halves of the die together, which holds the line in place tightly without tearing up the outside like the tools that rely on internal threading to hold the line in place. If you have steel brake lines that you need to flare in situ or don't want to spend $250 for a hydraulic flaring tool that's constrained to a vise, this is what you need. Great tool. ... show more

  • Tricky to double flare Nickle Copper brake lines!
Style: 3/16 in. Double Flaring Tool Pattern Name: Flaring Tool
The media could not be loaded. This Capri Tools CP21110-316 Double Flaring Tool works great when making SAE double inverted flares on Steel lines but has an issue double flaring NiCopp (Nickle-10%/Copper-90%) 3/16" tubing/lines. I spent 6ft of NiCopp trying to perfect the flares with this tool doing 3" straps at a time before I cut my actual Jeep lines. The instructions work for Steel but don't work for NiCopp. I'm not the only one with this problem. What I noticed is that putting the line flush against the stopper bolt like instructions state makes the punch die twist the flare causing deformities that look like it's lopsided on one part of the side of flare. That's not acceptable in my book. Now it is soft NiCopp and may crush into place if tightened several times in the hose/ABS fitting/connection. But I'd rather make an acceptable flare that's uniform all the way around. And I did, after days of trial and error I found backing off the NiCopp tubing about 2-2.5mm from the stopper bolt then tightening down until there was great resistance on 10mm bolts, created almost perfect flares that are more than acceptable in your vehicle. I included a picture with the gap, it's about the same size as the line marker on see through hold on the tool.. so make sure its gapped if you are using this tool for Nickle Copper brake lines to make SAE Double Flares. One picture shows the perfect Flare, and the video shows the wonky flares I got while following instructions. Tips: • Use punch grease and don't just use a tiny bit on tip of die, get a little on whole mating area. • I tightened until it bottomed and was flush with Tool on both dies. I do hear some Tools require stopping once there is strong resistance when using NiCopp. • clean off dies before every use so you don't get dirty and obstructions between punch and line. • you must debur and chamfer line before Flaring. Use a countersink to debur the inside rim of tubing of all sharp points. Then use a fine file to flaten the end of all lips and sharp points them chamfer outside, you are only trying to remove sharp areas, make it smooth. • when you chamfer & file and debur your line you want to hold it down so gravity keeps shavings out of the line. You don't want shaving in high pressure lines that have 1000-2000psi Great tool, well made definitely purchase, you can get high quality flares of nearly all kinds of alloys. This problem is not restricted to this Capri Tools CP21110-316 Double Flaring Tool, it also happens on the Titan 51535, the Lisle and the Eastwood hand Flaring tools, they are all built the same exact way. It's all to do with the type of metal and its strength and possibly a slight difference in quality control. There are overwhelming good reviews of this Tool of all brands on Amazon, Ebay, Home Depot, Lowes, and other sites. I'm giving it 4 stars because it is not working following directions but it is a great tool. ... show more

  • Great tool!
Style: 3/16 in. Dual Head Flaring Tool Pattern Name: Flaring Tool
Initially bought a less expensive bubble flare tool but could not get it to work. The Capri tool make a perfect bubble flare on the first attempt. A bit more expensive than some other tools but in my opinion well worth it. Great tool!

  • Worked great
Style: 3/16 in. Double Flaring Tool Pattern Name: Flaring Tool
I made brake lines for 1968 mustang, reused some original steel and newly purchased 3/16 brake line. I made 10 double flares without a problem. System is leak free and looks great. I really like the portability of the tool, several ends where installed in the car in tight spaces.

  • Good product
Style: 3/16 in. Double Flaring Tool Pattern Name: Flaring Tool
Used it on and off vehicle with 3/16” steel brake line. Easy to use. No issues with flare being off center. Advice, make sure you clean the brake line with brake clean then lock it down. I like this better than the older style flare tools.

I bought a cheaper Amazon Pick that failed to do a 1/4" flare on the car. I then purchased this one and the job was done in 10 minutes.
