Description

The E Series jazz shoe from Capezio features a soft and flexible leather upper that molds perfectly to your foot's shape. Stretch fabric wraps around your arch and the sides of your foot for support and custom fitting. The split sole includes a textured design that offers traction on any surface. The perfect basic for any jazz session. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.Note-This shoe is to fit very snug as it is meant to stretch.

  • Great Jazz Shoes but sizing is TERRIBLE!
Size: 4 Color: Caramel
I'm giving it 4 stars ONLY because the sizing is WAY OFF. Capezio makes the best dance shoes with the highest quality and that's the only shoe that's allowed in my daughter's dance class. She wears a size 2 in regular shoes - sneakers, a 1.5 size in sandals. I ordered size 3, 3.5 and 4 to see which one would fit. The size 4 BARELY fits. So I'm returning all 3 sizes and ordered size 4.5. She wears a 2.5 in the Capezio U-shell tap shoes and a size 2.5 in the Capezio ballet shoes. Also for these E series Jazz shoes - there is no "child" sizes - it stops at 1.5 for child sizes so you have to go to the women's size. This is probably the reason for the size discrepancy. ... show more

  • Love this shoe!!
Size: 7 Color: Black
I buy this same brand and style of shoe every year for my daughter's jazz dance classes. They are perfect. It wears good and has excellent arch support and the stretch in the middle allows for some growth! That's very important right now because her foot is growing constantly. It's in your best interest to go approximately up 2/2.5 sizes up from your street size. Also, always follow the chart and go by the foot measurements from heel to toe. Keep this #handy because you'll be using it bunches in dance footwear. My daughter is 11y.o. her foot is 9 1/2 inches long. She wears a Capezio size 7.5. Her street size is a Size 5. I go up 2.5 sizes because her foot is not resting yet growth wise. The extra .5 gives her a little more time in the shoe. She can start, finish her season (Aug-May) plus recital then do Summer dance. I always buy her the new pair when fall dance begins. I hope this helps!! ... show more

  • Fit like a glove and very comfortable
Size: 10 Wide Women/10 Wide Men Color: Black
My shoes arrived today and they fit like a glove! I just wanted to update y'all because reading through the reviews on Amazon was giving me a headache. Between people saying they were a perfect fit and that they run up to two sizes too small. My takeaway from sifting through the reviews and product information was that you should buy the size you usually wear, unless perhaps your big toe is longer than your second toe, in which case, order a half size bigger. They will start tight and stretch with wear. I ordered in my usual size and I'm happy with the length. They look tiny when you take them out of the box, but they are stretchy. My toes are a little snug in the front, but going by what other people (and the company) say, they do stretch more with time. My big toe is a little shorter than my second toe and I can see why it might be a problem if it weren't because the top of the shoe is quite round. I'm really glad I ordered the wide (for my wide feet), because they are pretty tight across the instep. So, anyway. These are so comfortable, and light, and give a nice balance between security/grip and slipperiness for spins. Looking forward to trying them out next week! I will update this review if they wind up not living up to my expectations on the stage floor. ... show more

  • Great shoes, difficult sizing
Size: 8.5 Color: Black
I purchased a pair of these for my 14-y.o. daughter. She wears a 7.5 in street shoes, which I also wear. I took a lot of time deciding which size to buy. We measured her foot, but it seemed small. So I went with the guideline of 1 size larger than street shoes. Her 8.5 fits snug, especially on her big toe, which is her longest toe. I tried it on with the same result. The rest of the shoe fit well without any tightness at all. We decided that we would give it a chance to let the shoe stretch a bit and form to her foot better as she wears it. If I were in the store, I would’ve had her try a 9 as well. But I can’t say how that would’ve gone. The quality of the shoe is excellent, both materials and stitching. I’m confident we won’t have any issues there. Good luck finding the right fit! ... show more

  • Perfect....order regular street shoe size!
Size: 7.5 Color: Caramel
Capezio was required for my daughter's High School Danceline. I had to purchase in both colors (games & competition) and they were perfect for her. I selected her regular street shoe size. Please expect that they APPEAR tiny out of the box, BUT they are meant to be snug all around the foot, including around toes--they stretch to fit like socks--NOT fit like regular shoes. I purchased Pro-Tech rubber toe guards to help ease the pressure on her big toes while she was stretching them out. Be prepared to need to replace these shoes as they do get worn as these girls work HARD and put a LOT of wear and tear on them. Quality is EXCELLENT. ... show more

  • Excellent Product, Horrible sizing guidelines
Size: 10.5 Wide Women/10.5 Wide Men Color: Black
Excellent product, horrible sizing guidelines. The Wide is like narrow... The websight & seller gives very little guidelines, and leaves you guessing based on vague information. The guidelines state order what you normally wear, when that is not true. What you normally wear is 1-2 sizes too small. Order 1 to 2 sizes larger than you need if you expect to wear these out of the box, while keeping in mind that you need to break them in also. Very disappointed & now have no shoes for my show coming up...must now order a second pair, hope they fit, and deal with the hassle of returning these. ... show more

  • Good Quality Shoe
Size: 7 Color: Black
I’ve always order Capiezo shoes for my daughter. They’re a great shoe company. The shoe adds support and feels great. She wears a 6.5 in street shoes and we ordered a size 7 and they fit fine. Highly recommend.

  • Great jazz shoes!
Size: 8.5 Color: Caramel
I got these shoes because I'm starting a jazz class soon and didn't have the right shoes, but I've been dancing for years. I'm really picky about my shoes and Capezio never disappoints me (I pretty much only wear Capezio). I expected these shoes to fit snugly to my feet because all dance shoes are supposed to be snug (which most people don't understand) unless your feet are still growing. I ordered my street size and they fit like a dream. Like all leather shoes, they'll need some breaking in, but I love them! All in all, I'm glad I bought these and if I need other dancing shoes I'll be sure to come here. ... show more
