All I did was iron them out a bit, fold them over at the top, use clip curtain hooks and hang them....they're a great, relaxed yet elegant look and very sturdy! (They have slight imperfections that are small...like small strands of string that can easily be cut off. Totally worth the value.) *Tip: They have a bit of a heavy odor for the first few days that will go away with proper ventilation, or if you're up for the trouble of washing them go for it. If I am remember correctly, I quickly laid one out and due to seams in the drop cloth, my doors wouldln't quickly open and close while working on them. Then I tried to kneel on one drop cloth folded and the seams were bothering my knees and I had to hunt for my mat and knee pads. They work, but not as comfortably as I had hoped. ... show more

I mostly use painting/drop cloths for toddler projects/painting and find it to be a life saver, however this brand is pretty thin and not very protective. I would be worried if using real paint as opposed to water colors and glitter glue. Aesthetically they really look like the type used by DIYers for curtains, decorations etc. ... show more

These are not suitable to use as drop cloths for painting. Paint goes right through. You can see from my photos that the weave is pretty open - you can hold them up and look through them. Fine as a rustic-look curtain, but complete trash as a drop cloth for painting. I ended up having to scrape paint drops off the floors when I was done painting… at least it was on the wood floor and not carpet. As others have mentioned, they also have a pretty horrible smell. I ended up throwing them away. What a disappointment. ... show more
