It does a great job of keeping dust and debris out of my water, and the insulation is amazing. I usually cover my bottle with a cotton or nylon string bag to protect it from dust. However, I recently forgot to do that, and the bottle ended up just a foot away from a zero-turn mower engine, exposed to the intense mid-summer South Florida sunlight for two hours. The outside of the bottle was scorching hot (thankfully I had work gloves), but the ice inside barely was still in its original shape from the ice tray. So, the insulation goes hard. ... show more

Always a good product from this brand. This set up with the wide mouth lid is really easy to clean. The bit valve options (straw) get moldy and gross and take care to keep them clean. These are so much easier to clean and sanitary

This bottle does exactly what it is supposed to: It is durable and keeps my drinks cold. However, I don't love it as much as my other bottle (the red one in the photo) that is the same model but an older version. The new version brags about the magnetic cap that keeps it from moving as you drink, but I liked the plastic/rubber piece on the old one better. As you can see in the photo, the plastic/rubber piece on the older one holds the entire lid when it is open (which is really handy when I am filling it up) but when I take the lid off of the newer one, I have to put it down somewhere. The other issue I have with the new one is that I have to twist the cap 5-6 times to open it to get a drink, which is particularly annoying when I am driving. (The older model only has to be twisted 1 and 1/2 times to get the cap off.) I know they likely did this to prevent the leak issue that will occur with the older model if you don't screw the lid on exactly right, but it is still annoying. While I would have rather been able to get another like my older one, I think that most people will be pretty happy with this bottle overall. ... show more

This is my second 40oz CamelBak canteen - the previous one is over 5 years old and still gets used all the time. I bought the 20oz for my 9 year old and really liked the new spout design so I picked one up for myself in the 40oz size. Love it. Well made, durable, and most importantly keeps cold beverages cold and hot beverages hot for hours, all while being completely leak proof. Please be aware that the 40oz size will not fit into a standard car cup holder, you'll need an adapter (available on Amazon from dozens of sellers) to bring this in the car and keep it upright and handy. ... show more
