  • Inexpensive protection for your RV water system.
I've been using this filter regularly for about a month now and so far, I'm pleased. I'd read a fair amount about RV water systems and the recommendation for filtering water before it enters the rig. This filter seemed an inexpensive measure to keep contaminates out of my fresh water system, so I added it to my Amazon "Subscribe & Save" at the rate of one filter every 4 months. It seems well constructed and I connected it to my potable water hose (with inline pressure regulator), ran water thorough it until clear per the instructions (to rinse out the loose charcoal) and then connected it to my rig with a brass right-angle hose adapter. I generally don't drink water from the tap at home or when I'm in the RV, but I out of curiosity, did a very unscientific taste test of the water before and and after I'd connected this filter to my toy hauler. There's a dramatic difference in the quality of water that passes through this filter and although I likely won't drink it on a regular basis, it does notably improve the smell and taste. I'm never one to give 5 stars right off the bat, but this one deserves a solid four, based on my current level of experience in using it. I'll update this review in a month or two and if it continues to perform at the current level until the next filter arrives, I'll bump it to 5 stars. ... show more

  • Slows down the flow a bit
This handy little filter is an easy and handy way to filter your water while filling your camper. Only downside is it slows down the rate of fill quite a bit making a 10-15 minute job even longer. When the filter is new never use be sure to run a little water thru onto the ground and not into your tank as the water is dark for a couple seconds. I recommend ... show more

  • A great RV filter
It filters the water really good and removes the chlorine odor which is really what I was after. The water comes out pure and doesn't smell at all. However, there are two things you need to know about this filter. First, according to the instructions on the filter, you need to allow water to flow through it for a short time to clear the carbon lines. I hooked up the hose to one end and turned the water part way on to let the water flow out the other open end of the filter, and for about two seconds the water was pure black, which was the carbon coming out upon first use. After about a minute I turned the faucet all the way on and it flowed black for another two seconds. After that, it's been clean and pure ever since. If you don't let water run for a few minutes at first to flush out the loose carbon and just connect the filter without flushing it, you're going to have carbon inside your system. Second, according to the instructions on the filter, it says do not freeze. Well, if you hook this to the outside of an RV and it's winter time, I'm not sure you you can avoid this. But it is a good filter that works great and I will buy more of them. ... show more

I rated this three stars because it does not get all the hose taste out. I installed this on the cold water side of the kitchen faucet in my RV so that I get filtered water through the cold side of the sink. This could also be used as an attachment to a standard hose fitting since the plastic threads are for a standard hose thread but I use the larger blue Camco filters on the outside. Even after flushing my drinking water hoses it still has that hose taste. It helps reduce but I would not drink tea or coffee with the water that comes fro this filter. Disappointed ... show more

  • Absolute necessity for any RV
As full-time living in an RV, this is a sensual especially living in Florida where we’re on well water with a bunch of calcium. Works well, change it approximately every month. I believe this white model replace the blue model just in case you were wondering

  • Does the Job Well!
Very good filter. I attached this to my RV motorhome directly with a 90 degree elbow when we traveled South this past spring, using various campground water supplies. Never noticed any outstanding tastes or odors during out travels. I have 1 more to use next year, but will be purchasing another as a spare. ... show more

  • Tasty
We use this while tent camping. Simply by screwing us into the hose faucet on the campsite we had crisp clean water to drink all week. So much better than trying to haul water or plastic bottles back-and-forth. As an added bonus the water came out of the filter in a nice smooth stream opposed to the faucet which was spraying all over the place. ... show more
