  • Great value. EASy install. PICTURES WILL HELP CONFIRM FITMENT.
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: Smoke
Great replacement cover. I liked the smoke better than the original opaque. Even though it looks dark, it lets some light in. Some here say the plastic is thin. Yes, it is thinner than our OEM cover. But it appears to be sufficient to last a long time. The hinge is simple, bendable metal. Removal is done by bending the curved piece at the end of the hinge and sliding the cover towards the opposite side. Install is the same idea; When you have it in place, you simply bend the little end piece into a small curly-cue and that keeps the hinge from sliding out either way. CONFIRM FITMENT. The description of the vent lid could have had more specifications. Many here ask about sizing. The manufacturer refers to this cover as a 14x14 size. That alone won't give you much confidence that you have the right cover. I have included pics to help you confirm this will work on your unit. I also installed a new vinyl seal. Ventline #BVD0455-01, 51" length. Overall, I was very satisfied with the new cover and it's a terrific value. Saved plenty of money and time over taking it to the RV dealer. ... show more

  • Came fast! Easy to install.
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: Smoke
I could not believe it when the first original roof vent lid on my 2017 RV shattered in the wind! (Forest River cuts so many corners!) After research I ordered this replacement and after seeing how easy it was on YouTube removing the old lid and installing the new, I did mine in a jiffy. It was so easy, after inspecting the other two lids I bought two more and replaced those as well. And I had even installed MaxAir II covers in all three positions (cab, bed, bathroom) three years ago. All I can say is that the original white plastic lid could not stand up to UV and/or heat, but as this is in PNW, not such temp extremes as elsewhere. Anyhow, don't hesitate in replacing your lids if your RV is about 5 yrs old, so you don't have it go to shreds during a trip with family, or God forbid, in a storm if you don't have a cover over it. We shall see how long it holds up. It claims to be UV resistant. We shall see. At least it is made in USA, so maybe it will. ... show more

  • Easy Fix
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: Smoke
When I went on my RV roof to clean the white vent cover that is just over a year old I busted right through it due to sun damage. I freaked and though I would have to replace the whole vent. Thankfully after a few online tutorials I found I could easy swap it out for a new one. This was the best value for money I felt like, So I put a tarp over my vent and waited for 2 day shipping. Item arrived as described and was relatively easy to install. Had to disassemble the vent lever mechanism, disconnect from my old vent cover and it slid right out of the hinge channel it was in. This new one from Camco slid right in and everything reconnected with ease. I can't speak for long term use yet, but it appears better made than the original, and being able to see through it with the smoke tint is a nice touch. Also, I added bearing grease the the hinge channel and lifter arm while I was in there. Makes for smoother operation. ... show more

  • Good product for the money.
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: Smoke
Looks nice, seems durable. Time will tell. Only thing that could be improved is the instructions, I'm fairly new to RV life, but super handy so it wasn't hard for me to figure out how to install it. The only thing is 4 pictures on the side of the box just doesn't seem like it provided enough knowledge for an amateur to install it on their own. I didn't even use them since they actually sucked. I just did it, drop the mic. It was easy, just saying for the folks that need a little more detail. ... show more

  • Just as expected like original. This may help you out.
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: White
No instructions as others mentioned. It took me about 10 mins to figure out. Get up on the roof and look how your original cover operates and is installed. Have a helper inside to assist. You shouldn't have to get too rough with any of the existing or new cover parts. With cover mostly raised, uncrimp the end 1/4" tabs on your existing cover hinge, I used a needle nose plier to open up these tabs. Pull the thin retaining clip off of the 1/4" rivet pin on the J shaped elevating arm. Save the clip for installation. Now you can flex the bottom edge of the long slotted track to disengage the flat round head. There's just enough flex in this light weight metal track to do this. I used a flat screw driver tip to flex the bottom the channel. Once you have the arm disengaged, slide the old cover off the hinge. Slide the new cover on the hinge, reengage the pin, crimp ends on new hinge put the clip back on the rivet and your done. Replace the seal around the cover opening while your up there. Buy the seal at the same time you order the cover. Hope this helps more than confuses. This isn't hard just hard to describe. ... show more

  • Easy install.
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: Smoke
The most difficult part of doing this was getting the crank handle out so that it could be inserted in the new top. In a motorized fan vent, this meant removing the screed shroud and then the screen just to remove the two screws holding the crank handle. It would be nice if this were made a bit simpler. P.S.- They are cheap. Buy an extra one so that when you are on the road and a branch shatters your vent you can jump right to it rather than duct taping and plastic bags and leaks until you can get a new one. ... show more

  • Holds up against winds
Style: Ventline (Pre '08 Models)/Elixir ('94 &a... Color: Smoke
So I have a 1992 Dutchmen RV and I didn't know that these were for a 1994 up to 2018. How ever they fit perfectly still. I have been having High guts of winds in my area and they are holding up like a champ. I hope they will be good against hail, but if not they aren't to expensive to replace. Really like the dark ones instead, I get sun Light but not as much and it is good. ... show more
