This is a pretty awesome bed frame for the price. I love the vintage look but appreciate that I did not need a box spring. My spouse and I had to move, in a “make do” situation. It was pretty easy to put together. I think it took about an hour, and it’s sturdy. There is no squeakage, and our Ego14 Inch Mattress fit perfectly on top of it. We purchased the suggested braces to go with it in order to keep the mattress from falling off not really sure if necessary tho for how big our mattress is.     • Sturdy bed. Mattress slides. Unsecured slats
We purchased a twin size for our 4 year old. It's very sturdy. Though, after a couple of months we have noticed some simple faults, but we do love the bed in any case. It's a little high with a 12" mattress for our 4 year old, but she loves it. After a couple of months she learned how to climb into the bed and refuses to use a step stool. She sleeps like a baby she used to be. Perfectly sturdy and easy to assemble. My husband did it by himself within 2 hours. After a couple months of use, we recognized she enjoys having this fun little space under the bed, which is a great place to store so much! We noticed she would kick up the metal slats that hold up the mattress, slip them out from their grooves. They are not attached securely... so this was a little unnerving. After explaining the dangers of the mattress squashing her (lol... we don't suger coat in this household), she stopped... immediately. Now it's not a problem, but we still want to find a permanent solution for safety... because kids "forget" the dangers. Next, we noticed the mattress just slides off... another danger we were concerned with as she jumps on and off the bed. There is no surrounding lip designed to hold the mattress securely in place. Our fix was simple. We purchased "Non slip mattress gaskets (set of 6)" (on Amazon) that hold the mattress in place so well! We highly recommend this addition with your purchase of this bed. The gaskets keep the mattress from sliding side to side. Now, we are very happy with the purchase of this twin size bed. Constructed really well with very sturdy parts (some exceptions as explained previously). It's classic design is Beautiful. So happy with it... esthetically pleased. I would say, this is probably a great mattress for older kids who do not move furniture around like ours...lol... otherwise, the slats are really sturdy in place and can hold a great amountof weight, but the slats can be pushed out of place easily by a 4 year old (pushing their strong Flintstone feet up onto the slat and pushing it out of place). The danger is that the metal slat may fall and hit a small child, or worse, they push out enough slats and the mattress collapses on top of them. So, definitely keep an eye on your child and often check under the bed. We're thinking of our permanent solution for our little one's new bed. Good quality and fair value. Very pretty bed. I would purchase again... the Queen or King size for our guest room after renovations, if the decorative style is headed in that direction. ************ 4-stars because the bed frame lacks a lip to hold the mattress in place. I won't take points off because I personally decided to purchase this bed for my crazy toddler... lol, very much, the design was ment for older children/adults. Sturdy and beautiful. We recently bought a new house and all of our household goods are still in storage until some important issues are resolved with our house. We knew we at least needed a bed frame so I saw this bed frame online and I kept going back to it after looking at different bed frames. I loved the style. Metal farmhouse style. It has a nice high headboard, great height underneath the bed if you want to store items under the bed (not me personally). The bed frame is easy to put together, but you do need two people. The instructions say to tighten the screws at the end but we don’t understand why so we tightened them as we went along and it didn’t make any difference. The bed is very sturdy, didn’t shake, squeak, or make any noise when we laid down for the night. We didn’t use a box spring. We also put sliders under each leg of the bed so it won’t put and marks on our floor and to make it easier to move, some we had to use two under but that’s because of the way the middle support rail is made. I highly recommend this bed. It’s beautiful. Will fit in any type of decor style. ... show more

[If anything changes, I will come back and update the review]. I have had this bedframe for about a month now. Assembly took a while, even with 2 people putting it together and 1 reading the instructions out. But it was still rather simple. The frame is incredibly sturdy! 2 adults sleep and relax on it and it has not shifted or made any noises. The only thing is that there is nothing keeping the mattress in place, so if you lean up on one side then it will slide. But it is just as easy to slide it back into place. I spent HOURS searching online for a good quality bedframe and am so glad I settled on this one. It has an extra high headboard. My mattress is pretty deep so I was concerned with other ones that the headboard would not feel tall enough. This one is perfect! It is, however, my first time not using the box spring. It would have been way too tall if we put both on. But only having the mattress and no box spring doesn't change the comfort at all. I highly recommend this frame, can't beat it for the price. ... show more
