So CDD has redeemed themselves some what. The responded again with a more coherent thoughtful response. I washed them again with vinegar and the spots did come out and after the 4th or 5th wash, the cases did get softer. That gave me a reason to get these to 4 stars. Still no matter what I tried aside from ironing, wrinkles are still an issue. I had high hopes for my new go to brand for pillowcases. CDD. I ordered 5 sets in ivory, 1 king pair and 4 queen/standard. All were 600TC. I was happy at first, with encouragement from CDD customer service as to the fact they need to be washed several times before they became crisp and soft. To me crisp means flat and smooth. So I upgraded and purchased their 800TC, which they said were thicker and softer and even more luxurious than their 600TC. So the pictures are after the first washing and tumble dry as per the instructions Not sure what the spots all over the cases are about. They were fully dried and promptly removed from the dryer and washed and dried alone, I just washed the 2 cases alone and dried alone with 3 100% wool dryer balls. The 800TC were thicker, I will give them that, but the sateen sheen was a bit much in person, plus the wrinkling was not good. There CS was nice in the beginning, but skirted around my questions about the spots and they told me they do not add additive to keep them from wrinkling. Do they expect you to iron your pillowcases? Well if that is what it takes, they should just state that. I would have been happy to take 10 minutes and iron them, if they added that to their instructions. But I specifically contacted them for advice and I followed it to the letter and this is the result. So I subtracted a star for wrinkling, subtracted a star for softness and subtracted a star for Customer Service as they would not address the spotting. Amazon on the other hand handled my inquiry superbly and was great about resolving the issue on setting the course for me to find a better set of pillowcases ... show more

I have tried many many brands of sheets and different thread counts. These by far are the best quality and comfort of all the others. And they only get softer with each wash. The labels at the head and foot on the fitted sheet are great so there is no guess work. I have an adjustable bed and the depth of the sheets stay on the bed even when I have it reclined. Every other sheet set brand I have tried this is not the case. They all fall off and I have to continually readjust them, which can be very frustrating. The shower cap design is by far the best also. Thank you California Design Den for making these awesome sheets that actually lasts for ever. The only reason I had to buy new sheet sets was because my house burned down and I lost everything inside it. I recently purchased a set that was saving me a few extra bucks and unfortunately I had to return them, so in my mind saving a few bucks was not worth the hassle and discomfort. ... show more

What I wanted in a sheet set and found with these: 1. Heavy duty cotton sheets. Sure they aren’t as soft initially as bamboo sheets…but the last couple of softer sheets, including bamboo, ripped rather easily at the corners of the fitted sheet. 2 washings and they are comfy. I expect them to get softer with repeated washing. Still, I’m pleased. 2. A fitted sheet that actually fits and has strong elastic. Best fitted sheet yet. Much easier to make the bed with strong elastic. Especially considering I have arthritis in my hands which made it more of a challenge with past sheets. 3. Longer top sheet!! I should have made this #1. Not only is is longer to tuck in adequately, but my husband and I now have enough coverage. No more pulling the covers from one another in the night! A note about wrinkling. While this is the least of my personal concerns, these sheets really didn’t wrinkle much out of the dryer. After the initial wash, I had intended to pull them right out of the dryer when complete and forgot. So they sat in the dryer for perhaps 30 minutes and still looked crisp. Another win. ... show more

I bought a set of the 800 thread count Egyptian cotton pillow cases 5 months ago in bright white. I use them every day. These are a very nice thick sheet of excellent quality. I have bought 4-5 sheet sets in the past few years online looking for something of this quality and I have never been as satisfied with any of those purchases as I am with these. They still look brand new and the color has not changed to a dingy white like many sheets/pillow cases do. I will definitely purchase more bedding from this place. ... show more

I've purchased California Design Den before and loved the 500 count. I ordered the 600 to see the difference but even looking at it through the picture on the box it didn't meet my standards. This is the first time I've tried 800 thread count and a bit disappointed. I washed the set before using and haven't found "buttery soft," "sateen sheen." They were also thick therefore too warm for my body. On the pro side, the abundance of fabric gives you more than enough to shove under the mattress. They guarantee satisfaction so I will return even though I washed the set. Given all that I will say I was so happy with the 500 count I will always buy California Design Den sheets. ... show more

I was looking for a set of thick luxury sheets and these sheets do not disappoint. They are heavyweight cotton (compared to typical sheets) but they are soft and cooling. They have that crispness that I crave in my sheets but have rarely found. I’ve only put these through the wash once so far but I was thrilled and amazed that they came out of the dryer wrinkle free! I followed the instructions and dried them on medium low temperature and removed them promptly…this is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s taken so long to find these I’m contemplating buying another set but they feel so well made I also think this one set could last me thirty years! ... show more
