We have very hard well water in Texas. Tons of Calcium and Magnesium from the limestone. The porthole of the washer is white after running a load. With Calgon that is not the case. The laundry is softer and cleaner too. It will make my washer live longer.

I have very hard well water. I was going through a lot of laundry detergent and my clothes just didn't smell or look clean and I'm not one of those people who need their clothes to smell like flowers but I do want them to smell clean. I think this is a good product that helps mitigate the effects of hard water. My laundry comes out softer. I have a septic tank and cannot use bleach. This product seems to help keep my whites from becoming less gray and dingy. From now on I will be purchasing this product elsewhere as I can get it from Walmart for 1/2 of what I paid here. ... show more

We have very hard well water. I rinse my laundry with this added. I have for decades. Good stuff. They try very hard to prevent leakage when shipping, but I usually need to rinse and dry the bottles after unwrapping.
