At the vegetable farm where I help we use a calculator in the delivery barn to figure each customers share of, say, fresh basil. So divide 11.3 pounds of basil leaves by 80. The barn is dark and the light is a bit dingy so a clear display is important. The old calculator got electronics disease and started producing random numbers. This calculator has a nice big numerical display but the contrast of the digits against the LCD background is not as bright as some I have seen. The square buttons are business like and sensible. The back says "Use Battery Size: (1.5V) x 1 which is a bit mysterious so I got out my finest Phillips screwdriver and opened it up. The battery is one of those 1/2 inch diameter watch batteries like a 357. It is held in a clunky little clip on the circuit board and you have to slide the battery out sideways. I don't think they ever intend you to do that. At least it has solar power so that should take care of most of the work. The calculation is very fast. I did a couple of big complex square roots and the answer was instant. This calculator will do a good job in our vegetable barn. ... show more

I used an adding machine every day up until a few years back. Our company, when the tape adding machine broke, they decided not to fix them so we eventually moved to Excel. Adding machines still have their use so I wanted one with the larger +key to mimic my old machine, only without the paper tape. This met that criteria. The buttons are a bit different when striking them and it rocks slightly between the numbers and the +key. I'll need to remedy the rocking but overall, I'm good with it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It is not a soft touch calculator. It looks neat for a calculator. But sometimes when I use it even though I pressed it it would not register a number. You have to be really in the middle of the button. It is cheap and I am not expecting a good quality one. But it does the job most of the time. Still happy with it ... show more

It is a basic calculator and it does what it is supposed to. Basic 4 functions plus square root and memory. The keys work easily and is a nice desktop size, so as a basic calculator it’s pretty good. It has an odd imprint of characters (Chinese) which is a bit comical…see picture.

I bought this for work. It works ok. The printing on the buttons is kind of faint - not in bold. And the buttons aren't very easy to push. It works alright, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite calculator.

I had an old calculator for about 10 years and decided to order another one to have in the office as a back up, for when it finally goes. Once the new one arrived and I pulled it out of the box, it just looked and felt cheap, something from the dollar store. Its almost like a lego style boxy plastic, but the issue for me is the screen is unreadable and the angle is to low, making it extremely hard to see. I have to hold it under the desk to see it.
