This is a good-looking coffee maker which operates and works pretty much as expected. Programming is simple, as are the basic controls. It shuts off automatically after two hours of non-use. The carafe is a bit smaller than I'm accustomed to, as it only holds ten ounces. This is fine for everyday use, but might require extra brewing when guests are over. The manual does not indicate what type of filters are recommended, but as you can see from the photos the funnel-shaped filters (natural color) are a better fit than the basic round ones that I generally prefer to use (white). You will notice from the picture that these don't really fit properly and there is excess material bunched up inside the filter. I also observed that the carafe fogs up quite a bit during the brewing process, making it hard to see the actual level of liquid present inside. This is somewhat of an issue because the machine doesn't beep to indicate when the brewing process is complete. You actually have to be present to observe when it stops brewing. I like the convenience of hearing a beeping sound in case I happen to be doing something other than standing in front of the coffee maker. It took just under five minutes to brew four ounces of coffee, which I suppose is about average. I attempted to upload a video of the brewing process, but unfortunately the file was too large. All told, this gadget works just fine for basic brewing. I took a star off because it doesn't alert you that it's done, but otherwise it looks and works great. ... show more

    • Do I really need a new coffee maker?? How much better could it be?
So to start, coffee is simple, as water, insert filter, add grains turn on... coffee. But what if you didn't need a filter anymore, what if you could Make it stronger without using more coffee grains, what if it was ready before you were. Yea I needed a new coffee maker... the lack of filter was enough, but the stronger option is a game changer, and I can pull the pot out mid brew and it waits for me to put the pot back. Now that I know how to use the program feature, I dont even need that feature I just set it up the night before and it's ready when I get up. ... show more

Makes coffee, nice sleek design and anti spill stopper means you can grab a quick cup while waiting on it to brew the full pot. The reusable mesh filter works well without needing a paper filter unless you are using a very fine expresso grind, although even running Cafe Bustelo expresso in it I've seen pretty minimal grounds make it to the coffee pot. Simple clean up and simple to use. It does save the programmed time so you can just hit the "Prog" button twice to enable it for the next day if you want the same time. No need for smart plugins or extra bells and whistles and simply works the way a coffee pot should. ... show more

This coffee maker is a little larger than my previous one but fits perfectly at my coffee station. I like that I won't need the paper filters anymore. Works great, just set the time, and its touch control. And unlike my previous one this coffee machine has the feature of selecting your brew strength!
