  • Much more effective than I thought.
I needed to slightly lift a very heavy washer/dryer combined unit. The weight of the unit is roughly 380 lbs. These were much more effective than I expected. I had to use an item of this type because the washer/dryer unit is in a very small space. These were effective at lifting the unit a few inches. That allowed me to place gliders under the feet so that I could move the unit around. Well worth the price. ... show more

  • just what i needed
i was looking for something like this. i needed to move, lift, and level a very heavy executive desk and had no help. these were perfect for the job, though you do need to use small firm pieces of wood or something similar to give them a stable platform. there is a little bit of a learning curve to find the best way to use them. i was able to raise it 2 inches with no marring or damage to the desk. take your time and don't get discouraged and you will like this tool. they are sturdy and made strong. a good product. i would buy it again. ... show more

  • Great product with many uses
I’m currently setting solid mahogany exterior windows (double hung windows range from 180lb - 500lb) and I purchased the bags to help me fine adjust and set them to height & center, they worked perfectly! I used the bigger 600lb bags to set these bigger windows to height, the smaller 300lb bags I was able to slide in the side and use to center the window to where I needed. We set 20 windows using these bags and they saved us a tremendous amount of time in fine adjusting which means money in the bank!! Also good for setting doors! ... show more

  • Lifted 900LB crate
I had a wooden crate that was laying flat on the ground. I needed something flat to lift it with. The crate weighed 900 LB and the air shim only had a 500 LB max rating. Tried it anyway and it lifted the crate a solid 2inches without popping. Lifted it enough for me to get a 2x4 under it.

  • Not easy to use at larger thicknesses; doubtful about weight claims
I like these air bags. They seem to work well, but with some tighter limits than the listing implies. Of note, the amount of lifting force you can get seems to decrease as the air bag inflates. It does make sense -- as the air bag inflates, there is greater internal pressure. So, the finite amount of pressure generated by the inflation bulb has to overcome both this increased internal pressure as well as whatever object you are trying to lift. I had considered this prior to using these bags, but I did not quite realize the magnitude of the internal bag pressure. These bags are practically useless above about half their rated thickness. The large bag, which is rated for gaps up to 3 inches, cannot lift much weight after it has expanded to between 1.5 and 2 inches. It works relatively well with gaps smaller than this, though. If you purchase these, make sure you have plywood shims to make the gap as small as possible before inserting these air bags. Also worth noting, it does take quite a bit of squeezing pressure on the bulbs to lift any significant amount of weight. I have relatively strong hands, and after testing this only about 10 times my hands and forearms were quite tired. Granted, most people probably won't use this product in rapid succession 10 times, so it's probably fine for most people. Just be aware if you don't have especially strong hands, you will likely need to use both hands at the same time (or stand on the bulb) to generate enough pressure to lift heavier objects. In regards to the weight rating, I am not sure how they are calculating it. I think I would de-rate the loads by about half, and that would be a comfortable level. Anything more is a bit dubious (unless you have completely shimmed the gap so that the air bag is tight in the gap even when deflated, in order to generate the maximum external force). The surface of these bags is smooth and seems to be non-marring plastic. It has not scratched anything I have tested it with so far. However, make sure you clean the bags before using them on any visible finished surface! The bags can pick up dirt/debris from previous uses (especially if you have used them on the floor) that WILL scratch finished surfaces (the dirt/debris will, not the bag). If you are especially adventurous, you could hook this up to an air compressor -- the bulb inflator is just connected with a barb fitting, so you can remove it and slip on a flexible hose if you wanted to. ... show more

  • Wish I’d gotten these sooner.
These worked great! The concrete fireplace surround in the photos was about 12’ long and weighed around 650#. After transferring it from the large dolly to the low profile ones the airbags and shims slowly and gently lowered this beast into place perfectly. I could have used these air bags over and over through the years. These work great. If you are lifting something skinny throw a piece of wood between the bag and the item to distribute the weight. Otherwise it will just cut into the air bag. This should be common sense. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
They were smaller than I expected. However, they were very useful for installing a door. I’m sure I will have some other uses.

  • What a useful tool.
I have found multiple usages for the inflation bag. I purchased this bag set when with the car running my door locked when I stepped out to clean the windshield of snow. The remote would not open door and the key lock was broken. Beside opening the car door, I also will lift off the ground heavy items to get coasters under legs or to level with shims. ... show more
