I got this for my 8 year old because he wanted a more sophisticated journal he could lock without a key. He loves it. Combination lock isn't sticky and actually locks and unlocks well. The leather part that goes into the medal tip can get raggedy if you're too rough. My son is a bit rough but I'm thinking an adult wouldn't be so rough. Check out my pics for reference. I wanted a notebook I can write in that felt more secure than an open notepad. I use it as a personal diary to log my emotions, thoughts and events i want to reflect on throughout the week or whenever i need to write. I love that it looks sophisticated than a little girls lock & key diary. The combo was easy to set up and use. There is also a way for you to reset the combination if you happen to forget it. They provide a small pamphlet for you to do so. Inside of the notebook there is a small pocket at the end of the book that you can store little notes or things. I currently have one movie ticket, a doodle, and a pressed flower in it. The only thing I would say I don't like, is that I can't fully lay down the left side of the book because of the lock, which makes it difficult for me to write. Other than that this has been one of my favorite purchases, I bring my book everywhere with me. It is a decent size that I carry it in my bag and has more than enough papers in it. I like how small this journal is and that it has a lock. I Liked it so much that I ordered two more one in purple and one in blue. However, I was sad that when they came in they were both purples. I used this to take notes for a new job. I found it to be very helpful. I was going to use the others for different reasons as in one for my spending money that I place in a safe. The size is just perfect for those needs. Now I am worried if I order again that I will not get what I paid for. I was so excited when they came in. I wished to give the blue one to my daughter as a gift. I do feel that they would make for a great gift for those who love to journal. I am not so worried that they are both purple just that if I order again would I get what I get the color that I desire and pay for? I would have given this a Five star if I received the right colors. ... show more

This little journal is cute and perfect for recording your thoughts/lists/ideas etc etc…it is perfect to cozy up with. I love the little pocket at the back where i have secured my stickers. The line spacing is excellent and the number of pages seems to be just right. I would have loved a loop with a pen on the side but all in all I give this 10 thumbs up. Looking forward to buying others. I bought the Khaki version and it looks and feels sophisticated. The unlock code is easy to set up and opens without a hitch. Absolutely love it. ... show more

I had ordered the diary planner a couple of weeks ago and after a week of waiting, the order was canceled without explanation. I ordered the exact diary planner again, and this time it came in.... damaged. It gave off an awful first impression with a beaten up, dented box. I thought nothing of it until I opened the box to find the diary was also damaged. I really think that mine was reused (and I ordered a brand new one too)! It was already dirty for some reason and the metal plate that the lock is on was crooked! Both the metal plate thing and the lock itself were scratched up! When I looked inside, I was very angry to find out that if you change the colors of the journal, the style changes too! It doesn't warn you of that, so let this be your warning! I had previously ordered the small grey version, and it was the best journal you could ever imagine! I was so happy with it! I filled up every page (of the small grey version), and so that is why I wanted to order another one. I figured I could try a different color, so I ordered the small black one. It is totally different and it just gives off the looks that a two-year-old made it! I hate to give this review such a harsh description, but it is 100% true! For everyone's sake, don't buy the black one! It is a complete waste of money, and time waiting on it! This thing is TERRIBLE!!!!! I wish I could give it a 0 star! ... show more
