My wife asked if you could make a replacement key for a file cabinet at her work. You can, except this was the world's most obscure filing cabinet and the key literally fell apart. So, I ordered these locks and replaced both locks in 10 minutes. Hint: Keep the old hardware until you can determine that you DON'T need it. The description reads: ... for 3/4-in diameter mounting hole. The cylinder itself is 11/16-in at best. Very loose fitting.
