  • It definitely does the job!
This pistol is legit -- very powerful! And be sure buy the extra Co2 cartridges and ammo disks, you'll go through them fast. 1 cartridge is good for 5 disks. Very fun & efficient pest eliminator. I would very much recommend!

  • Makes killing large bugs fun! Kills them dead!
I live in Florida, so there are some large bugs. I have the bug a salt gun and it works great on wasps and flies. It just kinds of stuns the larger ones. Then I saw this on amazon and I had to have it! This pistol is more like a shotgun. I was skeptical until I saw my first bug. I lined it up and shot and the bug simply died! My only issue is that you can't refill the salt cartridges. It is heavy duty. Make sure you press the CO2 cartridge in all the way or else it won't fire. ... show more

  • Excellent weapon against the arachnids
If you also suffer from the arachnids violation of your aligned treaty, then this is the enforcement method for you. The bug-a-salt rifle is great for smaller size violators, but some of them will take multiple hits before falling to their knees. With this, not even the larger breeds will have knees to fall on in the end. While it is pricy, and getting ammunition (if you don't pack it yourself) is an additional cost, desperate times calls for desperate measure. If you don't want to go down the rabbit hole of making your own flame thrower or move completely, this is it. ... show more

  • FUN FUN FUN!
It's a little pricey but you can't put a price on blasting flies and/or any other bugs sky high. It's alot of fun. I wish it came with extra seals but well worth it.

  • Easy to have to waste a lot of CO2 canisters...
This is an updated review, but I have left my initial review at the bottom, after this one. Anyway, I'm just revising this to share what I have learned since I got this, that I did not realize when I initially ordered it. According to the information provided by Bug-A-Salt, with the 5 canisters of CO2 that come with this gun, you should get about 240 shots out of them. And so, if we take 240 shots and divide that by 5, then we can say that one CO2 canister should give us roughly 48 shots or so. Ok, so that's great, right? Well, that depends I suppose. The instructions say NOT to leave a CO2 canister in the gun if it's not going to be used for a while. Then they go on to say NOT to leave a CO2 canister in the gun for more than 24 hours. And THEN, they say that when you go to remove a CO2 canister to slowly turn the piercing wing counter-clockwise to release any remaining CO2. So if you were wondering if you could take a CO2 canister out of the gun while it's not in use and then reuse it later? Well, that answers that doesn't it? So basically, if a big horsefly gets in one day, or one night you want to use this on a big roach that's gotten in, and that's all you'll wind up using it for that time? Then you'll have to use a whole CO2 canister for just a few shots... Something else worth mentioning, if you want to make sure your Bug-A-Salt Shred-er is going to last, is something else I learned from the instructions that I did not know when I got this gun. Under "Maintenance," they say to put 1 drop of silicone based oil on the tip of every CO2 cartridge. So if you are a newbie to something like this like I was, chances are that you don't have any silicone based oil on hand. And if you're getting ready to purchase this or have already purchased it, you might want to consider getting some. Anyway, with all of that being said, I still love the Bug-A-Salt Shred-er, as well as the company that makes it. And I realize that this problem of easily wasting CO2 canisters is not their fault, and is really more of a universal problem for anything that uses CO2 canisters. (Initial Review) I love this brand! There products are always of high quality and their advertising is always hilarious. This thing is a bit of a change for them though because it is pretty serious. I would recommend that only people who are capable of exercising self discipline should use this Bug-A-Salt gun. The instructions give a good idea of how powerful it is too. Because they say that if you shoot an ordinary fly with it from about 3 feet or less, then there won't be an intact, whole fly body to dispose of like with the other Bug-A-Salt guns, lol. Anyway, it's quite easy to tell that this Bug-A-Salt gun is built to last. Some of the parts are made of plastic but the parts that are the most important are made of metal. It's also really easy use it, as well as learning how to use it. So I'm glad that it has a safety switch. And one other thing. To anyone wondering if the laser sight that fits on all of the other Bug-A-Salt guns fits on this one? Yes, it is also compatible with this gun- The super duper mega awesome Bug-A-Salt Shred-Errrrrrrr!! ... show more

  • definitely kills carpenter bees
Every spring we are ambushed by Carpenter bees. They damage our wood siding and wood fencing. They are difficult to kill. I killed 15 of the fast flying buggers today. I take no pleasure killing them. It is one of those necessary evils. Great product.
