Description

Native to East Asia the Chinese Elm is one of the most popular bonsai trees, especially among beginners. These lovely semi-evergreen trees can grow up to 65 feet tall in their native habitat, but have been cultivated in miniature form for Bonsai for generations. It is an ideal choice for those just starting out because it is slow-growing and tolerant, the Chinese Elm allows beginners plenty of time and forgiveness to grow accustomed to bonsai care making it one of the most loved and most undemanding of miniature trees. Features beautiful, distinctive dark gray to reddish brown bark that turns fissure and corky when mature. It has a lovely branching shape with delicate, oval shaped toothed leaves that showcase a fresh green color and a delightfully tiny leaf. These cute little plants took about 2 days to arrive. They were packed in a giant box filled with Styrofoam peanuts. They were still moist when they arrived. 7 days after arriving they have both lost a handful of leaves but I assume that is because of the shock from shipping. I had purchased these little ramen bowls from another retailer with the intent to transfer these bonsai into the bowls. However they are wired into the pots they arrived in and I have no idea how to liberate them safely. For now they are still adjusting to their new home but eventually I'd like to move them to their ramen bowls ... show more

These two trees arrived in just a couple days. They were packed tightly but gently in their box, not a single leaf was harmed or dirt spilled. The trees are very healthy and the pots are a good quality as well. Seller couldn't have done a better job.

This is the second bonsai I have bought from Brussels Bonsai shop. Let’s start with the delivery, I received my purchase a week before the delivery date. I received it four days after ordering it. The bonsai was packaged very well. A few leaves off but that’s to be expected. The tree was very similar to advertised. I wish I would have bought one with the glazed pot but I had this extra pot at home and went with this. The tree itself is healthy and already growing more each day. The customer service from this shop is amazing as well. The humidity tray I purchased was not in the box. I contacted the shop directly and it was shipped and arrived a few days later. ... show more

Internet bonsais are never like the advertised photo. This is one example. But I'm happy with it as it looks healthy, even with new appeared growth. I'll never be able to achieve the bend in the stalk. But it appears that it has been taken care of, and I'll continue doing so. It's CUTE.

My bonsai tree was delivered on time. Packaging was good. Not the Bonsai I thought it would be but I’m happy with it. I didn’t receive the tray or humidity rocks you are suppose to get with this purchase. I emailed Brussels and let them know. They emailed back and said they would mail the tray and rocks to me. I emailed to ask for a tracking number. No response yet. So we will see if they actually follow up. The tray and rocks in pic are ones I had left over. Gives it a nice look. I will update if they send tray and rocks to me. 3 stars because the tree in pic was not the one I received and I didn’t get the tray and rocks I was suppose to get with my purchase.
