I did a lot of research for the safest car seat. This one is easy to install, lightweight, and simple. My only complaint is the strength needed to release the seat from the base. Takes some serious forearm strength.

    • Top-rated car seat but not worth it
Pros: This is my second Britax car seat. I got into a car accident serious enough to total my car and my baby remained asleep and unharmed. For that, I will say this car seat is safe and stands up to its top safety ratings. It is also extremely easy to install, which you won’t get with cheaper car seats. For my 1st and 2nd I used a Graco infant car seat and it was a pain to install and move between vehicles. Finally, it has better cushioning than cheaper car seats such as Graco and Chicco. Cons: This car seat is HEAVY. It is significantly heavier than Graco and Chicco models. Also, and this is annoying enough that I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, it consistently will not unlatch from the car seat base as well as the Britax stroller it goes with. This is unacceptable for a 260 dollar car seat. It is difficult to get it to unlatch and in the process you need to be jostling your infant around. As any exhausted parent knows, this can often be the difference between a successful transfer to keep baby asleep and the baby waking up. Not ok, Britax! ;-) I did not have this problem with my much less expensive Graco car seat. ... show more

When we were in the NICU with our micropremie, we were consistently recommended other brands as they started at 4 pounds. I loved the Britax car seat and stroller for my first born and kept asking if I could go with the same and showed them that this also starts at 4 pounds. I decided to go with it and love it. This car seat is compatible with the old stroller we have and it works great. I loved it for its safety features and went with the same brand as I trust products from Britax.
