I kayak.i kayak poorly. I kayak worse than probably anyone you’ve ever seen. I get lost, I capsize, I run myself into rocks, I get discombobulated and separated from my kayaking partner. So anything and everything that will up my kayaking game is a welcome thing indeed. My boyfriend loves these lights. Because when they’re on my kayak and we are out at night it’s far easier to find me when I’ve drifted far away and can’t figure out what I’m even looking at and am calling desperately for help. The lights take a lot of the “where the heck did she go now?” Out of his evening. And that’s a big plus. These lights are brighter than I expected by a long shot. They look great. They also adhere exceptionally well. Once they’re on they’re not going anywhere…even after Ive capsized and half of my belongings are floating away on the dark river. I really like this light kit. It was bought for a ten-foot kayak. The lights are plenty bright enough to see around yourself and be seen by others. I like the ability to stop the transformation of color on whatever "shade" you like. There are a few downfalls to this set. The wires from the controller to the lights is a bit short making it difficult to find a suitable place to place the controller. Even though there are plastic mounts and 3M tape to hold them in place, the mounts are a bit too big to use unless I choose to drill holes, on my particular kayak, below the waterline. I wasn't ok with that. The 3M tape alone came unstuck as soon as it warmed up. Instead, I had to use some gel type super glue to keep them in place. As i first stated I really like this set of lights. Thier brightness is great, color changing ability catches the eyes, and they are made of clear waterproof silicone (Im guessing). They are very flexible. Also they came with no screw to mount the controller. ... show more
