The installment of theses were a little tricky, for you would have to pay attention to the direction that the go on, and use a tape measure to adjust them from one side to the other so there lined up with you roof correctly and even, but once on and locked with the key to keep them from being removed. They sit up high to keep the things you may need to hall on top of your vehicle from touching you roof top, thing like from my experience a kayak, 2x4s, plywood, pallet skids, piping, a ladder, ect... they seam to be well made and sturdy enough for the weight I have been able to test on them. ... show more

Really liked how easy the install was... I'm not a car guy by any stretch, but these rack mounts were incredibly straightforward. One thing to keep in mind: the inserts for the ends are cut to length, so if you end up taking them off, you may have to re-cut or order replacement ends.

Works great and super easy to install. Very minimal noise as well— I only notice it when I crack windows/open sunroof and hear a slight whistle, but that’s expected. Overall, they seem to be good quality and I’ve had them on for several weeks now! Happy with my purchase!

**Final Update** I purchased these and really liked them. Unfortunately, the black paint faded rather quickly. I wanted black ones because they would match my car. I contacted the company about this and they said they were made aware of this problem and fixed it. They sent out replacement bars within a few days. I've changed my star rating from 1 to 4. I'm staying with 4 because I like them a lot, but it was a bit of a pain to install original bars, remove bars, and then install new bars. **First Update** Below was my original review. After a few months, I was planning on taking off my roof bike rack and putting on my canoe rack. As I got on a step ladder, the crossbars looked different. They were a chrome type color when I was almost positive I purchased black ones. WELL once I took off the bike rack, I saw that I DID buy black ones. There was some black paint left underneath where my bike rack clamped onto the crossbars. I specifically purchased black ones because they matched my car and I do not like anything chrome. I will be pursuing a refund now. **Original Review** These were pretty easy to install. It seems the holes in the roof of my 2018 grand cherokee are a bit off. It took a bit to get these centered. These have 3 holes to use on either side of the rails, so even with the uneven holes on my car, I was able to center these. I am leaving 4 stars, just because the caps on the sides of the rails seem a bit cheap. I have a roof box that has set mounts and a bike rack. I can't use the same mounting spot for both. The bike rack makes contact with the open rear door, so I have to move the front crossbar forward when using it. Then to use the roof box, I have to move the front cross bar backwards. To move the crossbar, you have to remove the caps to access the mounting screw. Doing this once, loosens the cap so much that it can easily fall out once replaced. ... show more

I bought these roof rack crossbars because I was going on 3 weekend camping trips back-to-back with my family of 4 and needed the extra room and I wanted to buy a cargo roof rack to put on top of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. First of all, thank you BRIGHTLINES for making the ONLY bolt-on roof rack crossbars for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude edition, I thought I was going to have to pay for parts and assembly though Jeep Mopar to get a roof rack! The delivery was very quickly and was easier to assemble than I thought it would be, good instructions! I read the reviews on Amazon about the noise the air makes going past the crossbars, but in my opinion it isn't as bad a people were making it out to be, plus what do you expect when you add something to the top of your vehicle when nothing was there before... These crossbars got an added accessory to them fairly quick, I added a cargo roof rack attached to them because I was going on 3 weekend camping trips back-to-back and needed the extra space for gear that wouldn't fit inside. I put the crossbars and the trust in my assembly skills to the test with a 7-hour round trip to El Captain State Beach, in California, with a fully loaded cargo rack on top of the crossbars and it did wonderful. 2nd weekend it made a 14-hour round trip to Zion, Utah, and again it did great and my gas milage wasn't really affected by the drag up top, about 22mpg which isn't terrible in a Jeep. 3rd weekend it made a 12-hour round trip to the a Eastern Sierras and again it held up well, even through the desert winds with a fully packed cargo rack, and I was very worried about this known section of the driving route, but I was happy and impressed with the cross bars and cargo rack. I think the value for the crossbars are great! ... show more
