Have been using Brew Rite for 35-40 years. First recommended by an appliance repairman. Does a great job cleaning coffee maker and carafes. Wish the retail stores would carry it again. Don't know why they all stopped.

Does the job for a reasonable price. Been using for years. Have never had brewer problems due to scale buildup and I drink a lot of coffee.

    • The best stuff
I love this the best. I've tried others & they don't work nearly as well as this does. I used to buy it at Walmart but they quit stocking it. It is getting a little expensive but it is worth it. It actually cleans the pots real good & brings the real coffee flavors back. Not hard to use either.

    • Manufacturer Needs to Improve Packaging
I'm glad I bought two containers at once. The product was leaking though the mailer when it arrived - like extremely fine white powder. When I opened the mailer, I found the cap was broken - half the rim was totally sheered off. The contents of the container were all over the mailer. Anything this fine should be sealed with cellophane before the cap is placed on it - like coffee, spices, etc. I was disappointed to find out this product wasn't designed for a percolator. I lost a whole can of the stuff so I figured I'd give it a try - filled the percolator, stirred in the powder (as prescribed) and plugged in the pot. Wow!!!! This stuff really cleans. "Better than vinegar," just as the product description said. Sorry I had to throw out one can of the stuff because of improper manufacturer's prep, but I'm pleased with how it worked. I doubt I'd buy it again, though. It didn't survive being mailed very well. ... show more

    • Cleans the pot as well
This was very easy to use and a bonus was that it did a great job of cleaning the residue from the pot as well. I am using it with a Ninja carafe coffee maker. I recommend mixing it in a container before pouring it in the reservoir to make sure the crystals dissolve. I also recommend three rinses after the clean cycle as described on the Brew Rite label. I didn't experience any residual taste from the product, but it feels a little stronger than other descaling products that I've used and it seemed like it would be a good idea to make sure it was completely washed out the machine.     • A True Miracle!
This was a last ditch effort to try and clean my old glass coffee pot. It seemed like I had tried everything without success. The user reviews on this were so overwhelmingly good and the price was reasonable so I tried it. This stuff is INCREDIBLE! Not only did it clean my old coffee pot, but one of the reviews suggested pouring it into a coffee mug after using it in your coffee maker. I use Thermos stainless steel coffee mugs because they keep the coffee hot all day, but they eventually build up a crust of coffee stains that I have never been able to remove. After letting it soak for a while, I took a light brush to the mug and it came out absolutely gleaming. If it wasn't for all the dents, it would look brand spanking new!
