I decided on the Breg as a co-worker of mine had used Breg Slingshot 2 after his shoulder surgery and liked it. He's been using this for a bit now when we go out mainly, as walking for an extended period of time would cause him to become in a lot of pain from his arm just hanging down. He says it's helped him tremendously with the subluxation. Love this. Couldn't stand the regular braces that constantly pushed on my carotid artery and fell apart after 2 weeks of wearing while asleep ( I move a lot in my sleep). Been wearing nightly for a month and this thing rocks and is super plush. Even has the built in stiff foam "pillows" to help keep your arm elevated at night. Haven't had one issue adjusting or setting it up with or without the pillows. ... show more

They sent me home from the hospital with some kind of medieval torture device. Had to throw that POS out. My doctor was so impressed with this sling, he wrote down the name to discuss with hospital buyer! Super breathable, great weight distribution, very comfortable. I even manage to sleep with it.

This is a great product and is way more comfortable than the slings that go around your neck. I had this thing on and adjusted properly within 5 minutess of opening the box. If you have the intelligence of a potato you may not be able to figure out how to adjust it and use it but for most people it would not be an issue. ... show more

    • Used post two shoulder replacements.
My surgeon’s office provided this sling, and had a tech fit me for it before my 1st surgery. It is a cumbersome contraption but did the job of keeping my arm in the correct position for 4 weeks after shoulder joint replacement. It is true that the velcro is a pain - as it is incredibly strong and sticks to every part of the sling while you are trying to set it up. Once it’s fitted, though, you only have to adjust a couple of small straps. The straps are scratchy, though and I had to make sure my shirt came up and covered my neck, or put a pad around the strap. The exercise ball was almost useless as the elastic holder ripped immediately. But, because of my carpal tunnel issues, I needed to wear a hand brace while wearing the sling, or my hand would not have enough support in the sling and would be terribly painful. I kept the sling for second surgery on my other shoulder the following year. It was easy to reverse the pieces to wear on the opposite side.     • Get this sling before you have shoulder surgery!
This sling is the greatest thing since sliced American Cheese! Once you get it set up there is one quick release fitting and it makes the sling an ease to put on or off. I do not know how folks can save it is hard to set-up or put on or remove. The straps stay put as they go over and under your arm. So now more of the strap riding up your neck or pulling your shirt all over. I found it no more difficult to remove than the around the neck strap sling the hospital provided after my rotator cuff surgery. I wish that they had given me this while I was there. Set up is easy as the sling has velcro adjusters that stay attached. If you have a computer you can go to the Breg website and watch the video presentation. I just wish that they offered a two pack of the arm support so I could wash one while wearing the other. I imagine that the harness section is the most expensive assembly of the harness anyway so the price should not increase too much. Or else just offer the arm section for those of us that would like a spare. My sling came with the abduction pillows as well, even though my surgeon did not order it for me. ... show more

    • Rough, scratchy, itchy! Bad design - what a mess!
Velcro sticking to everything and scratches you, sticks to your clothes! Inside has rough seams that rub and scratch your arm! Neck strap is rough on your skin unless you wear a turtleneck!
