  • Great sound quality! Impressed with the improvement in recordings over the stock phone microphone.
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this little mic to improve the sound quality of both voice and music during the "stay at home" portion of the Covid-19 pandemic. The closer you get the mic to the source, but better "presence" and rejection of unwanted sounds. I expected some improvement just by having a mic closer to me, but I did not expect such a noticeable improvement! The 39 second recording is something I grabbed from my group of recordings, with this mic worn on my shirt, just below the camera field of view. When I used the phone microphone in previous recordings, the neighborhood sounds, cars, etc. were very intrusive. With this mic worn on my body, not only was the sound greatly improved by the quality of the mic, but also by having the mic so close to my mouth. The cord is VERY long and I could easily more than double the distance from the phone, but that was not required for this use. Please also note that if you use a standard camera, the included battery can power this as a condenser microphone for that extra signal. Yeah, I'd buy it again and might even get one for a gift for one of my colleagues. Watch the video and judge for yourself. No audio enhancement, just me, my Samsung S9, and this mic. ... show more

  • Perfect accessory for iOS devices
The media could not be loaded. First, look at the price. It's cheaper than the Audio-Technica version of the same microphone. Next, look at the features and all the ways this microphone can be used. It can connect to Android and iOS based smartphones and tablets to enhance audio performance for video recordings. It can also be used with a DSLR camera as it has an option to be power driven (battery included) which takes away the need for a shotgun microphone when vlogging or doing reviews. Lastly, check out the cord! It has a 20' long cord - unheard of for most lapel mics. This allows you to walk around and do demonstrations on video without having to move the camera. No loss of audio as the microphone is attached to your lapel and moves with you. The audio pickup of this microphone is omni-directional and it definitely makes a positive difference when using it. I picked up this mic after doing some research for microphones I could use with my iPad and iPhone to enhance onboard sound. This one is perfect for my uses and at twenty bucks the price was right too. An excellent accessory I highly recommend! ----------------------------- NOTE: If you go to playback a video you recorded using this mic and you don't hear anything, unplug it from the device and you should hear the recording. --------------------------- ... show more

  • The BEST Budget Lapel Mic?
LOVE this mic. Works and sounds great with either a video camera with a mic input or a smartphone. I did a full review on my YouTube channel THiNKmediaTV. NOTES: * The cable is very long * It is powered for use with a DSLR or Video Camera (includes battery) * Probably the best budget lapel mic out!

  • Great and Inexpensive Microphone
The media could not be loaded. I really like this to help record my youtube videos. I use a Canon t6i and the clicking noise that happens during zooming in and out is quite annoying. This helps tremendously! The cord is super long (20ft.) and the lavaliere is very sturdy and made of metal. There's a switch that allows you to record your audio on either your camera or a smartphone. If you use the camera setting, be sure to have backup batteries (LR44) and to turn it off after use. I actually purchased extra batteries right here on Amazon for a really good price. All in all, I do recommend this microphone. ... show more

  • 2 Tips for using with smartphone:
A couple of tips I haven't seen yet. I thought it was plugged into my phone all the way, but it wasn't. I took my phone out of its phone case, then plugged it in & it went in all the way. So if it isn't working for you, try it without the case on your phone. Another good tip if you can't get it to work: Instead of manual mode on your phone's camera, put it on Auto. The microphone wouldn't work for me at all until I did those 2 things. I was going to send it back because I couldn't get it to work, but I'm glad I kept messing with it & trying everything possible. So far it is working great & it sounds awesome! I'm so glad I got this! And it got here in 1 day!! Fantastic! So reminder: Remove your phone case, & put your camera on Auto mode instead of manual. ... show more

  • Poor materials, zero customer support
I bought this mic for iPhone videos. On my third time using it, the lapel clip (where the mic clips in) broke. I contacted customer support on their website with the following comment ____I bought a BY-M1 mic. I used it three times. The lapel clip (the circular part where the mic attaches) snapped, and the mic can no longer work on the clip. How can I get a replacement lapel clip.____ Three weeks later. Still no response. I'll do business with a different company that supports their product. I suggest you do the same. ... show more

  • A really good and inexpensive audio solution for various video projects!
I had seen an episode of the YouTube channel "The Everyday Dad" and he had been talking about various products he had used in starting his own YouTube channel. This is one of those products for getting better video sound than just using the audio on a cell phone or most cameras. This works great! I have used it with both my cell phone and my Nikon DSLR and the sound quality is very, very good. As in the product photo, the actual microphone is attached to a strong metal clothing clip and foam wind muff and via the wire, it goes to powered wiring and battery holder, about two inches long which is also metal and the included battery goes into it. There is a switch to turn it on or off depending on what you are using it with. The manual recommends On for camera use and Off for smartphone use. The included wire is very long. I actually have not unrolled it all and have just used what I need to go from the phone or camera and then to me or the other person. Yes, the wireless Lavalier mics are great and expensive, but being wired makes this very cost effective for many things and it does sound very good!. ... show more
