Features

  • HOW IT WORKS: Our patented two-way humidity controlled Boveda packs compensate the atmosphere inside your musical instrument. When water vapor is needed, Boveda releases the cleanest and most purified humidity. When there is too much moisture in your musical instrument, Boveda absorbs the excess. Boveda requires zero maintenance, your instrument will always be protected. Wide fluctuations in humidity will cause the wood to expand or shrink, and degrades its performance abilities.
  • IDEAL HUMIDITY FOR WOODEN INSTRUMENTS: Most experts and instrument manufacturers agree that an ideal relative humidity range of 45-50% is best for storing instruments. Stop risking your instrument by adding water or other solutions. Only Bovedas patented 2-way humidity control adds or removes moisture as conditions require to maintain the ideal humidity level in your instrument case. Boveda helps you protect your sound with the right relative humidity control with any wooden instrument!
  • EFFORTLESS PROTECTION: Nearly all guitars and other musical instruments made from wood are built in an environment where humidity is closely controlled and monitored. Wood is susceptible to warping that can alter the tone and timbre of the instrument, or even worse, cause it to crack during the manufacturing process. Protect your instruments against warping, cracks, and other damage cause by lack of humidification.
  • RESTORE & MAINTAIN: Boveda is the most effective way to properly store musical instruments anywhere. Simply place the Boveda packet in your acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, viola mandolin, ukuleles, cello, basses, clarinets, or other wood instrument Boveda helps you protect your sound with the right relative humidity control.
  • ABOUT US: Boveda devoted the past 23 years to the science of two-way humidity control, we know you will benefit from our commitment to precision. Becoming the global leader in any category does not happen overnight, but Boveda did this and continues to do so since 1997. Today, that persistence looks like millions of two-way humidity control packets getting shipped out each year to protect your finest cigars and tobacco related products.

  • works as advertised
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
I am in dry climate, so I put 2 packs in my mandolin case, and within a few days, the humidity stabilized at 49%, while the room humidity is way down the ~20%s. I am using analog hygrometer that is accurate to +/- 1%. So I think this product is pretty amazing. My instrument is sounding good and staying in tune. ... show more

  • the best way to protect your guitar
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
the best way to protect your guitar. After struggling with room humidifiers I'm following the old adage "the guitar is safest in it's case. As they dry out put them in a double tupperware container Water in the larger container, float a smaller container with the packets in it, and seal the llarger container, 24-48 hours later they are soft and ready to re-use ... show more

  • So far, great!!!!
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
I have only had this for a month now and according to the Taylor humidity gauge I also purchased, they are keeping my case at 52%. Of course the only way to tell if the gauge is correct is to purchase a very expensive humidity gauge that has been tested as reading accurately. But since the range is still within the correct recommended amount for storing my instrument, I will assume that as long as there is no fluctuation, it is fine. The gauge does read differently when and if I remove it from the case, so I assume it is working as advertised and that the Boveda Humidity Control system is doing its job. And if such a simple and inexpensive solution can be used to avoid costly damage to a multi K instrument, I am happy. ... show more

  • Do what they say, expensive if in very humid or very dry climates
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
I use these for guitars. These are just ok. My biggest complaint is that they start to crystallize and get hard in different spots (usually spot that are resting against the guitar or case) and those hard spots never ever absorb moisture again. Once a spot gets hard it can be sharp and cause a tear in the enclosure, which is hazardous to the guitar. These might be practical if you have a few guitars but if you have a lot of guitars replenishing these every few months will be 3xpensive. You’d be better off putting all guitars in one room and using a humidifier. I have made these last longer by taking a large sealable plastic wear container and filling the bottom with water. Then putting a smaller container inside the larger. The humidipaks go in the smaller container and then the top is sealed on the larger container. This seals the humidipaks and water in close quarters so the humidipaks can absorb the water. So I cycle the humidpaks from guitars to the sealed container. But again, the hard pieces inside the humidipaks never get soft again. ... show more

  • No mess Works great!
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
As described. Arrived in perfect condition. Long lasting. Keeps guitars humidfied at a perfect 49-52%, without the leaks associated with old-timey humidifiers.

  • Reliable.
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
I use these in acoustic guitars. I have for years and have had no trouble with them. I use a higher % for my cigar humidifier, and they work just fine, too. Boveda makes these for a number of companies that then market them under their names, so don't worry if you buy them from a large reputable company (like D'Adderio) the product is the same. ... show more

  • Easy, gets the job done ... not cheap, but...
Style: 49% RH (Music/Food)
Not cheap, but pay for themselves if they prevent even one humidity-related incident with a valuable instrument - and they're much more likely to keep your instrument safe relative to traditional humidifiers/dehumidifers that have to be constantly monitored lest they over-compensate. Been using these (and their Planet Waves predecessors) for years and never had any humidity issues. ... show more
