  • Best budget speaker
Style: 5x7" 225W
Was low on cash and needed to replace my rear door speakers. These actually aren't bad. Decent mid bass and the tweeters are decent. I also bought a pair of AUTOTEKs for my front doors and those already blew in the first couple of weeks just from the power my deck puts out with 0 on the bass setting. These are still kicken. ... show more

  • Definitely Recommend
Style: 5x7" 225W
Bought these for our 2013 Ford F150. The stock speakers blew out long ago. Found this deal. Was definitely skeptical. The installation was OK. You'll need to cut on new spade terminals or use the supplied wire. In the door the speaker is behind the door panels. Do no use for the speaker grills. The 2 way speakers sound great. I bought 2 pairs. May buy 2 more pairs for my work truck. Worth every penny ... show more

  • Overall great speakers for the price.
Style: 5x7" 225W
Bought these to replace stock speakers in a 1997 Thunderbird. Highs and mids sound great, bass is a little weak, but that is expected for the price. Besides, I installed two 10's in the trunk for bass anyways. Highly recommend as an upgrade over stock. Only annoying thing is the mounting tabs at 3 and 9 o'clock positions, I had to bend them backwards underneath the speaker frame. ... show more

  • They sound about how you'd expect a budget speaker would.
Style: 5x7" 225W
I just needed some speakers to replace some very old, dilapidated ones in a mid 90's vehicle. Back when speakers and sound was more of an afterthought in factory offerings. I've had good luck with affordable, powerful amps from Boss so I figured I'd roll the dice on these speakers. I went in not expecting much with only a hope that they'd outperform my expectations. I have them mounted in the factory location and they fit well, they are "free-air" mounted. They're a bit tinny sounding and begin to break up if you try to add much bass into the mix via the aftermarket radio's EQ. I'm not sure I believe the advertised 90db/1w sensitivity claim but I had my doubts before purchasing them. So I can't say I was deceived if I didn't believe the claims in the first place, they're $25 speakers. I'm curious if I'd spent $10 more or $10 less (Boss has offerings of 5x7s in the $15-35 range) that there'd be any significant difference in sound. The radio is putting out around 20 watts, maybe these would come alive with an amp pushing them to closer 50w. But if I was to install an amp, I feel the money would be better spent on a small subwoofer if you have room, which I plan to do. I believe I'd have more luck squeezing milk from a stone than I would getting much bass out of these. Granted, I'd never expect to be able to do either of those things but ya gotta try every once in a while, might get lucky (see Boss amps). At the end of the day, I don't feel ripped off as exaggerating specs is a pretty common practice in all aspects of life that we all just seem to accept. I loath hearing music coming out of motorcycles, but I'm sure these are more than capable of annoying the public while you blare them full blast so we can all hear them over your missing exhaust. ... show more

  • Good value, Water-proof
Style: 5x7" 225W
Bright Red might be seen in cabinet. My application was replacing 40 ish year old radio speaker, did take some considerable side grinding to fit inside cabinet. Well built. Works well.

  • they sound fantastic
Style: 5x7" 225W
I bought these to go with my Boss stereo that I got from Crutchfield. They sound great. I placed them behind the door panels as a swap for the stock speakers, so I didn't use the plastic grills that came with them.
