This receiver has all the features of the more expensive receivers. Installation was very simple, and for the first time in my life the wire colors actually matched those of the adapter harness I bought for my vehicle (which I recommend). I don't cut factory wiring when I don't have to. I installed this into a 2009 Nissan Titan SE. DVDs play crystal clear and the touchscreen interface is awesome. I have owned touchscreens that require a lot of pressure to activate. This one is great. Check legality in your state but to play DVDs with your vehicle in gear I AM TOLD you simply ground the parking break wire. Just saying. The BlueTooth works AWESOME with my Samsung Galaxy S3, I primarily listen to Pandora. The phone feature is good, not the best audio quality but I have no problems holding a conversation. I mounted my mic atop my steering column behind the wheel. No problemds with audio quality at all with music. I also ordered the $15 Koolertron back-up camera which works great with this receiver. Wiring was simple for that as well, a single RCA from the camera and another wire to a back-up wire source. The screen is bright and clear, even during daylight hours (which I have had problems with other receivers). Doesn't wash out in light. The only thing I can't review on yet is the steering wheel function interface (which this stereo features), as I have yet to order the adapter from Meta. I don't use the steering controls much anyway, but I would like to have the option of volume control there. For the money I HIGHLY recommend this receiver. I have used Boss Audio components before, but not a reciever. I couldn't be happier. ... show more

4.5 stars. I purchased this aftermarket radio after reading multiple reviews. I purchased the wiring harness for my vehicle as well. I have a 2008 Toyota Sienna. I also purchased the double DIN mount for my vehicle make and model. Another must to make installation easy. The mount and harness came together in another Amazon purchase for an extra $25 My original radio swallowed a CD and would give it back. My family lives listening to books on tape when traveling. This was awful and we waited just under two years to make a new radio purchase. This would be my first aftermarket install. I purchased some tools for removing the paneling quickly and without damage. This was an extra $9 Read some other posts and you'll find out about grounding and the parking brake wire. You may want to use a toggle switch and expoxy the switch to the top of the brake frame so your foot can toggle the switch, just saying. Toggle switches are about $6. I chose to solder the wire harness on and use heat shrink to make a cleaner wire connection than nuts or butt end splice. I already had the solder iron b and the extra solder was about $4 . I already had the heat gun and heat shrink. My first go with the radio with the kids was to Grandma's house. No fighting at all. Occasionally, I can't see. Did good. Only problem was kids didn't sleep while traveling. Not too bad. The only real issue I didn't like was the lack of ease with the radio. The seek for radio is not present. You have to go through each station to set up your radio channels. This is also not very good for travel. Minus 1/2 star for that. The blue tooth works very good. Mounted the Mic up high on the back of the light above the rear view mirror. Works really good and used up most of the Mic wire and it's hidden. Tried out Bluetooth calling grandma and she could hear skill the kids even in the back row. Streaming also works good. Only heard an occasional click like a turntable click. Don't know if it is the radio the phone or the streaming company. Not a big issue. So if your willing to purchase the mount, wire harness, tools, it will cost a little more but make the installation easy. Great product. Low price. Do it. ... show more

    • Very cool unit overall

Just installed this unit yesterday in my 2008 Altima Coupe. So far it works great, but I was a little disapointed in some areas. First for the positives. Installation was a breeze. If you've ever installed a car stereo before, it should be pretty easy. The only curve ball I got was with the DVD player. There is a light green wire that you're supposed to connect to your parking brake light, but rather than rip my whole car apart trying to do that, I simply grounded the wire so it works all the time. The functions are easy to use, and the touch screen works well for the most part. Syncing my phone to the bluetooth was easy too, only took a coupe seconds, and it's still synced after turning the car off and turning it back on. I haven't tried making any calls yet, but I'm confident it'll work just fine. It also comes with a microphone you're going to have to run from behind the unit to somewhere on your dash in order to make phone calls. Everythings labeled on the back of the unit if you plan on installing a backup cam or a sub as well, which i plan to in the near future. For the negatives, which are very minor. The equalizer is somewhat limited from what i can tell. You're only able to change the treble and the bass, and it only comes with "pop" "rock" and "classical" presets. Obviously this is good enough to get by, but I was hoping to be able to customize the sound more. For me this could also be a good thing, because it gives me less to worry about really. I always try to get the most perfect sound, and if there's more options, then I'm always messing with the equalizer. Also, unless you use the remote, you're music automatically stops when you return to the home screen to play with the equalizer, which is annoying when you're trying to get the sound right. Another dissapointment was when I plugged my iphone in the USB port...and nothing happened. Turns out this USB drive only supports USB flash drives with media stored on them, not phones/ipods. It didn't even charge it. There's also a USB wire on the back of the unit that I plan to experiment with, but when I plugged my phone into that it would charge for a second, then stop for a second, the charge for a second, and stop again and so on. The dissapoinment was the blue tooth quality. This might have to do with my install, but playing music through the blue tooth mode produced a significantly lower quality than a CD or AUX chord. There was some static and it just didn't produce the same bass. I'm sure it's fine for phone calls, but I'm going to stick with an AUX chord for now. Don't let these negatives scare you away (unless you only want this unit for these specific features I'm talking about). I love the unit so far, and I can't wait till I get all my other goodies install as well. ... show more
