Description

🟢Borax Technical Grade in a 1/2 Pound Bag, this is Borax Pentahydrate in the Granular form. Borax has a wide variety of uses, a component of many products. It can be used to glaze ceramic crucibles, as a flux in melting, casting and soldering. 🟢Borax when used in melting of Gold and Silver helps to dissolve Oxides and other impurities and produce a fluid borate slag that collects on the surface of the molten metal. This slag is periodically removed, by use of a carbon-graphite or clay rod.

  • This product is not what’s shown in the picture
Wasn’t impressed at all. It’s didn’t come in the container shown here. It showed up in ziplock bags with a sticker stating what it’s supposed to be. I tried some just to see how it worked and wasn’t surprised to see it didn’t work well at all. Ended ordering from a different site and got what I was looking for ... show more

  • Not as Shown!!
The item showed up in a cheesily marked, cheap zip lock.

  • Works great
I been using the detergent borax with decent results but when I used this flux I seen a difference so I am only going to use this flux for now on

  • Great flux material
Great flux material, however the title misled me a little bit. White borax is generally used for silver refining, whereas the black flux is what is recommended for gold, which is what I mostly work with. Never the less, I'll use it anyways.

  • Borax
As advertised. Arrived a little later than materials purchased with it.

  • Worked Great!
Works great! Best if you keep it very dry otherwise hard to control. You can bake it dry again if you leave the bag open. 8oz was enough for 12 oz og gold with a little spare.
