This is a very basic lamp. I bought a shade at Cost Plus World Market to dress it up. The lamp has an Uno style shade fitter. My lampshade uno is too small for the lamp. In doing research , apparently not all uno fittings are the same size. So maybe this is a “Euro” fitting? I very much doubt that the cost plus shade is the problem. I will try to find some way to convert my shade. Or else return the shade and do something to dress up the origional shade or the base. Very disappointed. Will update with what I figure out Update: I compared my shade to another shade with a uno fitting. My shade was bigger! But this lamp has an even bigger fitting. So, before trying to figure out how I was going to make a converter, I decided to see if my shade even looked good with the light on. It did not. A 2700k bulb emits an incandescent-style light unless you’re looking directly at the bulb, in which case it hurts your eyes. My proposed shade had too much exposed bulb visible. It would have needed a 2500k bulb. So I’m going to keep the origional shade and return the one I purchased. As a side note I think the base of this lamp is a bit skinny. In lieu of a fancier shade I think I’m going to wind rattan or jute twine around the pole to make it more interesting and provide some bulk. Update: This is a good lamp for some diy magic…. You could attach embellishments along the rim of the shade, or cover the post with rope/sticks/whatever Also, it is PERFECT in a tight corner that needs a lot of light. As-is, without embellishments, it is a nice, unobtrusive lamp. Lets other aspects of your room be the stars and just provides light. The 2700k bulb looks great behind the shade - unless you stare at the bare bulb, light looks very incandescent. After getting this light I decided to rearrange all the lamps in my living room and discovered that this lamp was a perfect fit for a tight, dark corner that needed a floor lamp for reading. The shade diameter is smaller than some other shades so it fits in a small corner. Overall I’m so pleased with this lamp!!! ... show more

Good product - very simple and chic floor lamp. Easy to assemble and the brightness levels are nice to have. Only think I don't like is anything you'd like to have it dimmer or brighter - you turn it off, turn on, turn off, and then turn on to get the level of brightness you want.

Totally love these. So inexpensive. Simple. So easy to put together - it took maybe 5 minutes. I feel that the ease of install and the simple design is impressive. We moved and hadn't brought our living room lamp yet so desparately just needed something. Sorry you can't see the base in this picture, but the base is heavy enough that these are not topsy turvy. They are simple elegance. I highly recommend them. Not too often that I am happy with something so inexpensive. Very hepful and I may buy more for other areas of the house. ... show more
