  • Great bed at great cost!
Color: Black
Loft bed looks great, sturdy, and 7year old granddaughter loves it. Was a bit hard to put together. But we got it put together.

  • Pretty solid little bed, some know-how needed
Color: Black
We bought 2 of these to maximize space in our boys' bedroom. We just build them last night, here are my initial thoughts: 1. The pieces we received seem to have been fairly decent quality. Thick metal, and only 1 screw out of 2 beds stripped. I was also missing a washer at the end for one screw, but it's just as likely that I lost it as it is that it wasn't packed. 2. I don't know if the instructions have been re-written since many of the reviews mentioned poor instructions, but I thought they were fine. Perhaps the importance of lining up particular poles could have been emphasized a bit more (there is a set of 2 poles at opposite ends of the bed that requires a brace midway down, and you want to make sure that's in the right place if you're abutting the corner of a room). I made that mistake, and as Jimmy Buffett would say, "it's my own damn fault." Also, the long side guardrails attached to the very top of the poles on the inside, the screws don't go completely though the poles, so you have to pay particular attention to the orientation of those holes too. I also made that mistake, but again, Jimmy Buffett. 3. This can be a one person job. But you need to be an octopus to achieve it successfully, or do a lot of flipping pieces upside down, sideways, etc. Just remember your orientation. It helps if you have multiple people that can hold and fetch things as you need them. The benefits of having several kids. 4. I cannot emphasize enough what others have said- don't tighten everything down until you complete whatever section or piece you're working on. Special exception to the ladder in step 1. There are 8 screws that hold the ladder in place- do not tighten them down completely until you're finished with step 2. If you don't, the ladder is going to appear crooked, and is going to be a bit of a bear to attach to the end piece. I learned this after finishing the first one, and was able to apply the know-how to the 2nd bed. You really only want to thread each screw enough to make sure that it's beginning to thread into whatever you're attaching. You want to leave plenty of wiggle room until all the screws are threaded before you go back and tighten everything down. If not, you're going to wonder why pieces don't line up properly. 5. The included allen wrenches are good to start threading, but it's going to really increase your assembly time if you have to use them to tighten everything down. I used the allen wrenches for the initial threading, and followed up with a drill and hex bits to tighten everything down. Also, if you are using a drill and not an impact driver, you're going to want to turn the torque fairly low so you don't strip the screws. I did fairly well with this, only stripping one screw after I realized that the torque had been turned up to a fairly high level. 6. An anchoring system is included. We haven't used it, are seeing how things go. You do not, however, have to make sure it's aligned with studs, my kit included drywall anchors, and if you end up wanting to anchor, you're probably going to need them. 7. Plan on assembly taking about an hour and a half if you have lots of hands. Add an hour to that if you're traveling alone. 8. Organization will set you free. Unpack everything and organize the pieces and hardware into appropriate groups so you don't have to constantly search for everything. All in all, I think it's a solid bed that will require some mechanical aptitude to set up, but you don't have to be a pro to get it done successfully. This probably shouldn't be your first furniture assembly experience though. ... show more

  • Very Sturdy
Color: Black
This loft mental bed with stairs was the bed that I had bought online for this cheap price. Over the years I have bought beds online that the quality was terrible over time the mental you bend or it felt like horrible mental quality. This bed the metal is solid, it doesn't bend. When I have friends and family come to visit and someone gets to sleep in the guest room with this loft. I have heard no complaints. One person can put together until you need someone to hold up each side to put bed together. Also, I read the reviews and someone said to kind of screw in the screws do that. ... show more

  • Not Very Sturdy
Color: Black
Bought this for my 8-year-old son, who really wanted a loft bed so that he could have more floor space in his small bedroom. He liked that it was metal instead of wood, and that the ladder was built into the bedframe instead of extending out into the floor space. Instructions were not clear, and assembly difficult because you had to try to line up the screws and bolts by feel...which took some time...because they screwed together within the poles, so you had no view of them to get them lined up to join together. When we finally got it assembled, the whole bedframe was wobbly. No hardware was provided to tether the frame to the wall to prevent tipping. (I have since manufactured my own anti-tip system. Note: We had to place the frame in the corner to help prevent wobbling from side to side as well as forward and backwards. My son had hoped to have his loft bed away from the corner of his room). I wanted to return the loft bed, but my son really wanted to keep it. After strapping the frame to the wall, and surrounding the bottom half of the frame with heavy dressers, the bedframe is more stable, but this purchase limited setting up the bedroom the way we had planned. ... show more

  • Good for the price.
Color: Black
Much better quality than I expected. My 8 year old sleeps on it and it is very sturdy. I personally wouldn't be comfortable with a grown up climbing on it, even though it can hold up to 200lb, I think? Even so, great quality, especially for the affordable price.

  • Good for its price
Color: Black
The bed is really nice and useful if you want a little setup for whatever you want underneath but I just wish it was more sturdy and less wobbly. It moves around a lot which makes you feel as if it’s going to just collapse or tip over but other than that it’s good.
