  • Very nice equipment
After researching ab benches for a few months I decided to take the plunge with this one. I needed something other than the $100 to $200 class of equipment, This despite the fact there were no reviews or any opinions on it on any other sites and that it was in the spendy class. At 6'3" and 215 lbs I knew I required a bench in which the bottom of the board (where your noggin goes) would be well off the ground when inclined so my head would not touch the ground as it would on the shorter boards. I could see in the picture this one had this requirement. The other spendy front-runner I was researching seemed to have remarks form a few that there was a fair amount of metallic dust and instructions were funky for putting it together. This wasnt a deal breaker as after assembled it seemed that people liked it. Yet I decided to try this one cuz maybe it didnt have the dust and had good instructions. Well, my "gamble" paid off. There was no dust or factory filth on this thing. It did have a strong odor at first (I believe the synthetics of the upholstery) but after leaving it outside overnight it was completely gone by the next day when I assembled it. The instructions were great and assembly went very smoothly. They even provided these little tools needed for the various size bolts. I could tell while putting this together it is very solid. In fact it is extremely heavy, which makes me feels that this is as solid as those found in health clubs (in fact, its more solid than those in many health clubs I have been in). The weight of this thing is why it has the little castors on the one end - its so heavy you need the wheels and handle on the other end to move it around the space you exercise in. For me that space is my converted garage. At any rate, the padding is ample and provides more than enough length for my 6'3" frame. Although the foot pads are not adjustable, I wouldnt even notice this as the gap and angle of them relative to where the knee pads hit is perfect. I was just trying to duplicate the board at my current health club and now I find this one preferable to that one. Whatever the factors are that create the leverage, angles, comfort, etc that makes these feel right for someone, this unit nailed it for me. Happy I took the minor gamble on buying this one with nothing other than the picture on Amazon. One thing mildly concerning to me early on was that when you have a steep angle on the board, the knee and foot pads are rather high up there. But that was put to rest when I found the sturdy handle grip near the knee supports allows you to easily get yourself in place securely. Then I realized this height is why my head will never come close to touching the floor. BTW, there is zero wobbling, or loose parts anywhere. This unit does not move when I do my sit ups and I am not small. I am very content with this purchase and can tell this unit will hold up solidly for many years. If any changes I'll pop in and update. ... show more

  • Great Bench
I've had this bench for about a month and couldn't be happier with this purchase. I'm a 53-yr old Chemical Engineer who has been looking for a quality bench for a number of months before finally finding this particular bench online. Both the design and build of this unit is 'top-shelf' and well worth the higher price tag IMO. A vast majority of the cheaper options were nowhere near the quality of this system and I am not the type of person to lower my acceptable quality threshold to save a few bucks. I've heard quite a few fitness fanatics mention that good fitness 'starts and ends with the core' and I couldn't agree more. We have a very disturbing epidemic of obesity in this country and the purchase of this inclined bench has been a great decision as far as helping to put me on the right path to getting my body back in shape. If you have the means, I very highly recommend this inclined bench. ... show more

  • I like it!
I like it and use it quite a bit. It seem pretty sturdy at around 130 pounds. Took my time putting it together (2 hours) - I would recommend it.
