  • Good alternative
This product is a good alternative to a 2-part foam especially at the price value. It sets off really well, expands more than expected and sets up hard. Like others that have used and reviewed the , I would recommend using hot water instead of cold or room temp. I would recommend and will be buying more. ( Hint Hint to the seller ) ... show more

  • Use HOT water!! A large splash will do.
This stuff works very well if everything is warm. There are no instructions except use 1-5% (a few drops) of water. I used 3 gallons on my boat project. The first gallon I use room temperature water from a spray bottle. I mixed in 5-6 squirts. Then mixed for 90 seconds and poured. The results were disappointing. I had very little expansion (only about 5 times expansion). The result was a bulletproof thin layer of hardened sludge in the bottom of my fiberglass boat. (Which may not be all that bad- but not what I was expecting.) Honestly I was disappointed. The next gallon I used boiling hot water. I used a solid splash poured from a pitcher. I mixed vigorously until I got a color change from dark brown to tan. Then suddenly the slurry kicked! I had to pour quickly to get the rising foam out of my bucket. The results were fantastic! Very high expansion with very strong foam formation. Probably 30 times expansion. Every bit as much as a two part A & B expansion foam. At this point I was very pleased. The third gallon mixed with hot water worked as well as the second. (Caution the expanding foam does build some pressure in a confined space. I did hear my boat hull grown and pop as the foam expanded. I would recommend having your boat foam stored at room temperature until use. Pour your foam on a warm day into a warm compartment and use a solid splash of hot water and mixing vigorously for best results. Even though my first first attempt was disappointing. I’m going to give this product 5/5 stars. ... show more

  • Really, pretty amazing.
I was dubious of the claims but this stuff works. It is not as rigid as I expected. I was amazed that the humidity in the air actually was enough to set it his off. I am so impressed with in in my boat, I may try it in the attic. Lay out a thick film with an undercoat gun and let Floridas humidity do the rest. I’ll updat the latter once I try it. But for the boat, it is so much easier than mixing equal parts of A and B and hoping the ratio is right. This stuff seems very tolerant on the amount of water needed. Anything between 1 and 10% does just fine. One last thing… when you think it is done expanding, it will slowly grow another inch! It’s easy to cut with a handsaw. I fiberglassed right over it and it held up fine. ... show more

  • Impressed
Got the electric kettle out and mixing 4 ounce batches for my application just gave it a splash boiling hot water stirred for 5 to 10 seconds and poured using in such small quantities. It was difficult to get a consistent Phil. I was trying to fill a cavity of roughly 35 ounces, and did not measure the product precisely ... show more

  • Preforms as Advertised
This product was very easy to use and expanded to the volume as described in the description. I mixed 3oz of boiling water to 2qts at a time. I had plenty of time to mix it, a good minute before pouring. The reaction started slow then took off and filled the cavity within minutes. I've done lots of marine work but never used expanding foam. I can't wait to find other uses for this product. I wouldn't waste my time considering 2 part products. ... show more

  • Great foam!
I waited for a warm afternoon, and mixed with a healthy splash of boiling hot water. The expansion of this stuff is great. And the excess is easily cut off with a small wood saw. I'm glad I poured it before the new deck. I probably would have blown it out, that's how much this stuff expanded. It peeled out of my plastic mixing cups so I could use them over as well. Would definitely buy again. ... show more
