I own at least 5 of these maybe more they are a great product do not use a ton of electricity and work very well when they are in a temperature controlled environment. They do not have to be in a heated area but they work much better at keeping soil temp constant for starting plants when the area they are in has a somewhat stable temperature it self. Really need the thermostat box to control temperature but when you use it the combo makes it very easy to sprout plants. ... show more

They are the best value out there IMHO. I do use a home built heat controller with them because I am uptight about things.
