These speakers sound fantastic considering their size. They have a built-in equalizer. The bass is a bit boomy, but this is easily compensated for with the equalizer settings on my phone, tablet and computer. My sub-woofer connects directly to them, which extends the very low frequencies seamlessly. I used a longer lamp cord to connect them together rather than the one that came with them to allow me to separate them more. I consider myself an audiophile and they sound very good to me. I had to sell my AR-3a speakers and integrated amp when I downsized to an apartment. These fit easily and do the job nicely, and because they are Bluetooth, they were very easy to connect to my tablet, laptop and phone. ... show more

Great sound, almost all of the wires you need and Bluetooth works great. The sound is fairly neutral but a tad bassy. Overall, almost a perfect pair of speakers for the price (including the coupon). My absolute only complaint: the front lights are way too bright. It’d be nice to be able to turn them off completely. Additionally the lights are red / orange so it’s hard to tell the difference at first glance to see which is activated. Overall, a great buy and I’d recommend without hesitation. ... show more

    • they’re decent, a lot of bass

I got the larger version for $90. I have Yamaha HS7 studio monitors and so naturally I want to compare these to those. The stereo image isn’t bad. These have a loud thumping bass sound to them that is sort of muddy and not very clear but can be felt. The highs are a little harsh and sort of sibilant on my ears. If you can put them on stands or some foam to elevate them off of the surface they’re on that helps a lot with the bass and makes them sound a lot clearer. Despite all of these things they’re a great deal for $90. I might end up connecting them to my TV since they have an optical-in port. The exaggerated bass and crisp highs might be better for watching movies. I’m sure explosions will sound good and voices will be crisp and clear. If you can spend a few dollars more for a version with EQ knobs that might be worth it. ... show more
