  • Amazon Barcode Ruined Packaging
The stickers that are used to cover the UPC left behind a sticky residue and ripped the slip cover. The blu-ray contents are quite good are as expected. Overall, I am disappointed by the condition it arrived.

  • Even Better than "Blue Planet: Seas of Life".
I have both series on Prime Video and watch them from time to time since I love the sea and everything about it. Both series are excellent, though "Blue Planet II" is the better of the two. It is a sweeping journey that takes us from the busy life at the surface and at the coasts, to the seafloor, a truly alien realm right here on earth. We meet fish such as the barrel eye with it its transparent head, , the handfish, whose fins have evolved into something akin to legs and feet, which enable it to walk on the seafloor, the life at a brine pool, and plunge into a great trench to see what lives there. We are taken to a hydrothermal vent field, the Lost City, where we are introduced to the rich life of the vents, such as tube worms, who partner with symbiotic bacteria in order to gain the nutrients it needs, and to white crabs and shrimp. In later episodes, we see the great desert of the open ocean, where fish thrive anyhow, to the rich lives of the coasts and microsmsmic environments of a tide pool. Later we are treated to a portrayal of what humans are doing to the oceans--from the sound pollution produced by oceangoing vessels, to the effects of all our carelessly discarded plastics not only on sea life but on the seabirds who depend upon them for survival. All is not lost, though. We are introduced to a few of the people who are working to make thinmgs better. From a villager on a Caribbean island who has turned his fellow villagers from preying upon sea turtles to helpers who guide tourists to spots where mother turtles lay their clutches of eggs, to explorers who follow whale sharks to learn where their young live in nursery-like areas so that they can at least be protected from humans. The cinematography is breathtaking, letting us see our oceans as never before. And as always, Sir David Attenborough provides a sensitive and informative narration. If you want a sweeping yet intimate look at our oceans and the life in them, "Blue Planet II". is definitely for you. ... show more

  • BETTER THEN PLANET EARTH 2
I say that because it does a deep dive on basically one episode of planet earth 1, or 2. and it also covers the hell that the photographers go through to get these shots, 4 days and nights in a tree stand to get one shot (thats plantet earth) but its just as high quality, and new discoverys!!!! the ocean is magical and I wish I followed a differnt path that had something to do with saving it from our distruction. ... show more

  • Very beautiful Series
the camera work, the beautiful way this is filmed and the excellent commentary make this a wonderful set for those that like nature shows. the 4K and HDR really make the shows look very vibrant and very enjoyable to watch. I did have one issue with all the discs my 4K blue ray set playing in my LG UBK90 player. The sound would not play on the shows but was playing on the intro sequence and the main menu screen. I called LG for help, thinking it was a problem with how the player was dealing with the audio on the disc. I have a sound bar with optical connection to the tv set. with the players audio output in the player's settings set to auto, no sound on the features shows with these discs, if the output was changed to PCM audio the discs worked as expected. The LG tech was not sure if it was my set up, a flaw in the players software or the way the discs were mastered by the BBC. I am not taking away from the rating or saying you shouldn't buy this in 4K, just putting out this little problem with my player and the work around used incase others have the same problem. ... show more
