    • Buy em, they are good.
These are great speakers. They handle all 50w my Clarion Head Unit can throw at them. I choked em with a 500uF (80hz cutoff at 4ohms) 100volt non polarized electrolytic capacitor on the hot side(+) soldered/mounted right on the back of each speaker. Forget about those bass blockers, they suck. Crystal clear, no distortion. I sealed them with closed celled foam weather stripping around the edges when I screwed them into the door mounts. Nice and tight. Perfect fit in all four doors of my 2001 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. Sounds warm and full. I can hear more things in the music that didn't come through before. These do a great job reproducing music. I am very satisfied. I have been an amateur House DJ and Musician for years. I still work with professional sound production equipment and can't stand cheap equipment at high sound pressure levels(SPL). It peeves me like nails on the chalkboard. As long as your head unit(HU) puts out clean sound, you'll be very happy with these speakers. If swapping your current speakers with these Blaupunkts doesn't clean up your sound, change out your head unit and try em again. These are winners. Don't let the price discourage you. Don't expect big bass outta these. They are mainly for mid type bass, vocals and highs. Small speakers like this lack bass. So try adding two Aura Bass Shaker Pro transducers screwed to the floor under your seats, and a 200 watt Boss amp. That will bring your low end up big time on a very low budget without pissing off your neighbors(most bass is felt, not heard). You fellow bass heads know what I mean. Adding those Aura Bass Shaker Pros should rattle your bones plenty. If not, you may still need to add a Hippo 6.5" sub in a tiny box plus a small Boss amp to bridge the gap in frequencies between the Bass Shakers and these 5"X 7" Blaupunkt speakers. That is only if you really want to fill up the soundstage in your vehicle. My coworker installed Rockford Fosgate(which are great) in his vehicle and was shocked at the quality sound of these Blaupunkt speakers at high volume/SPL(played Bassnectar's "Mindtricks" to demonstrate). Especially after I showed him the price! Bottom line: Buy em, they perform as good as the big brands, but at a fraction of the price. ... show more

Using them in a Mazda B2300 se ext cab. Running off a high power Sony deck using it's built in hi pass xover set @80hz.and up The bass comes from a Alphsonic down fire 8" ran off a small MTX amp.Sounds surprisingly Good with this setup.

Very nice speakers, fit perfectly. Good sound, not much bass but I have a small sub for that. If you are looking for a replacement for them old torn factory speakers these are a good choice.

Honestly, the 17 year old factory paper speakers put out more bass than these. I ordered 2 sets of two and now I see why they were on sale for less than $10 per pair. However, the mid and high ranges of these speakers are great. The reason I tested these speakers with only two in the front after order two of the pairs was because one speaker arrived broken. The tweeter housing was loose and not supported by anything, but there was absolutely no damage to the shipping or packaging box. I will return one pair since one was never installed and the other was broken out of the box, and I will go with a more expensive speaker that can deliver better lows. Mixed with these in the front, it will actually sound quite nice. Oh, and these are NOT 4 way speakers. These are 2 ways speakers. The two small blue tweeters are just decorative, not actually speakers. Overall, if used as mid and high range speakers in a set of other speakers, these are a nice addition. As standalone speakers, 4 of these would sound like a loud alarm clock radio, to be honest. Update So, it has been just over a week and a half and I noticed the range of sound seems to have improved with use. I guess they were just quite stiff at first. Still not as much lows as the factory speakers, but overall, much improved sound. Though one came with the tweeter broken, I decided to not return these and instead install them all. I was able to glue the broken plastic part back with ease, and these fit in all 4 doors of my 2002 Ford Focus with no issues at all (even with the tweeter sticking out). I do like the sound overall. I will likely add an under the seat all in one subwoofer; not enough to make a ton of noise outside of the car, just something that will help bring out all layers of sound in each song. I got a pair of 6.5's for my dad. They sounded pretty good. So I got a pair of the 5×7's for myself. 3 months later and both sets are blown!!!! And when my dad took one of mine apart. He found out they aren't even 4-way's they are only 2-way!!!!! The outer two tweeters are just pieces of plastic. We what is going on Amazon? ... show more
