I received a package with a blackout covering, dark on one side, reflective on the other side. The kit included plenty of small strips and dots of decent-quality Velcro along with a nice tape measure. Install was straightforward: 1. Clean the window, sill, and trim. Make sure you do a good job cleaning off the area that will be receiving the adhesive-backed Velcro!!! Or they will fall off, and that would not be the fault of the product. 2. Measure the window, then measure and mark out on the reflective side of the material some nice guide lines. 3. Cut the lines with scissors! 4. apply a series of strips and dots, Velcro loop side to the window (removing the adhesive cover on one side), and apply to window trim border 5. Apply the opposite side of Velcro strips and dots (the hook side) to the Velcro on the window. 6. Remove the adhesive covering and put up the blind material, starting at the top and working your way down the sides. A relatively easy install, and you’re done! It did a great job and keeping out most of the light in the bedroom. This kit had enough to cover on of the two windows in the bedroom. ... show more

So... with the heat picking up in our area, we really wanted and needed a way to prevent all of that sun from getting inside. This seemed like the perfect solution to our problems, and it was.. until it wasn't. The heat from the outside really melted the stickiness of the Velcro backings, causing it to peel off over time which made the product almost useless until we bought stronger Velcro backings to reinforce them. So while I appreciate the effort and the fact that the "curtains" themselves effectively blocked light, the Velcro adhesives need to be improved AT MINIMUM for these to work completely. ... show more

My office gets a lot of glare, I use this temp blackout curtain to reduce the glare. I just clip it up and then lower it when there isn’t a glare. Works great for me!

We have two windows in our bedroom and one is completely sealed with other blackout shades. I've wanted to do something about the other window because a little sunlight was coming in from that one at night but I was being indecisive since I like to open the curtain and have sunlight during the day sometime..so I decided to use this blackout shade with velcro. I'm happy that I didn't completely seal the window but was still able to get a dark room in the night time!
