So, my doggo hates sitting in the direct sunlight in her bed in the passenger seat, and because she's spoiled rotten, I ordered this to protect her delicate self. Anyway, it'll do the job, I think, but it's just a plastic roll-up sheet! From the listing: "THERMAL INSULATED LAYER - 16 inch blinds Portable Blackout is made of thick PVC fabric and heat blocking layer that can block and reduce heat and noise from outside." Um, I guess PVC fabric means plastic, and the word "thick" is generous. BUT it fits my purpose, the suction cups do work well, and it wasn't to expensive ($12.99), so 4 stars it is. Like others, I'm a little worried about the heat, so I'll update if it's super-bad. ... show more

Don’t like this product.. feels cheap.. the suction cups dont stay. It’s hard to pull the shades down and up without it getting stuck somehow on the rolling mechanism

I ordered this because my daughter is forever complaining about the sun in her face when she's in the backseat of our minivan. Initial impressions, it's lightweight, low-profile (thin enough to open/close the van door with it on). The material is a little underwhelming; I was expecting a black mesh, but instead it's a black-dotted plastic sheet (similar in texture to the plastic film seal on a Lunchables), and since it's not fabric, it's just glued at both ends, not sewn. So far I have not noticed any durability issues but I'm a little concerned it will come unglued in the heat. As far as installation, it is super user friendly and easy to put up. The suction cups are large and do their job well. I didn't even have to clean the inside of my windows, and I moved the suction cups around a few times, and they're still staying up with no issues. The shade is easy to connect onto the cups, or disconnect them if you need to, so it's versatile. When I first put it on the window, I assumed it should be a pull-down shade, but it's much too narrow if you place it vertically (covering just a little square in the middle of the window). We ended up putting it horizontally and now it covers most of the minivan backseat window. The price is reasonable. I do wish it was a 2-pack, so I'd have one for each side, but they are inexpensive so I may get another one. Overall, would recommend. ... show more

The HBDHCUUN Retractable Roller Window Shade seems to be well made, even though it's plastic, and is working out just fine in the back window of my car. The shade rolls out smoothly and proves adequate protection from the sun. We didn't follow the instructions at first about soaking the sections cups in warm water for 1 minute before using, and they did not work. So, no, that step cannot be skipped. This works amazing keeping the light out of the office window, especially in the winter when the sun is low. You still get light but it is filtered enough that you don't have to look directly into the sun and harm your eyes.

This screen came with two suction cups on one end for installation and nothing on the other end allowing me to close it. I had hoped to install it horizontally but cannot because I have no way to hold it closed. I am very disappointed.
