  • Complete Honesty

This keyboard is a great beginner keyboard. It has louder mechanical sound than expected. What this means is if you work remote be prepared to bug your coworkers if it isn’t their thing. I made it work regardless. I enjoy the multiple color switches and schemes. So far, I have had it for about a year and a half and no issues. I do recommend this. I am switching to a better keyboard because I did a lot research and found what I wanted. Here are some of things that were not really addressed that might become important later: Things to know before you buy: - NOT hotswappable. I was new and didn’t know that’s what I wanted. I suggest learning what is because it may change your search. This keyboard is soldered. This means those buttons under the caps are not coming out. (Btw 100% hotswappable keyboards are expensive or hard to find that meet all your needs) -Not Bluetooth (IS wired). NBD for some but for me I have a work computer, personal pc, and Mac kinda not the easiest to keep control of the nut ass wires. -It is a hard metal aluminium on the top. I have not had a single problem with build quality. HOWEVER, the keycaps sound a little cheap. -Know your key sound preference if you don’t like loud mechanical this ain’t for you. (Loud Clacks indeed) -It has a number pad. That’s obvious, but depending on your job and lifestyle it may matter. For me, I prefer one because I work with a lot CLI and data entry in excel. -light weight and dense. -SOMETIMES num lock will turn itself off. If you are using the keypad be warned and check the lights. Ive messed up way too much data because of this issue. -Underneath keys also catches a lot of debris. Relatively easy to clean tho( with the proper tools). ... show more

  • A great entry level mechanical keyboard, but.......
Size: 104-Key Layout Style: Blue Switch
If you want to finally make the step up to a fully mechanical keyboard, this is a great option. Very sturdy build. Machined aluminum top plate, very nice RGB lighting, and very clicky, tactile switches. However..... this is not a easily customized keyboard. The switches are not hotswappable. Everything is soldered to the mainboard. Which makes swapping or for quieter switches a real pain. If you wanted to do any sort of painting of the machined top plate, sorry to disappoint you, but its not possible unless you de-solder every switch and then re solder after painting is one. Hope they next iteration of the keyboard features hot swappable switches, and has a wired or wireless mode. That would make this keyboard a game changer. Until something like that happens, I'll be sticking with my KBDCraft Adams 0110b and my Keychron keyboards. ... show more

  • I like the clickiness
Size: 104-Key Layout Style: Blue Switch
It's loud. My wife makes fun of me because of how loud I am typing away in my office.

  • Great build quality & lighting. Still have not used to typing fast on it
Size: 104-Key Layout Style: Red Switch
It's been 6 months since I got the keyboard and I still have not gotten used to typing on it without looking at it. The spacing on it makes for a lot of typos when trying to type fast. Other than that, the lighting and quality are superb.

  • Not bad at all. Just not what I was looking for.
Size: 104-Key Layout Style: Blue Switch
I ordered this keyboard and a Redragon K565 mechanical keyboard at the same time. The prices were close with a coupon but without one the Redragon was more expensive. I tested both out and while there was nothing physically wrong with the Black Shark keyboard it definitely lacked some of the features the Redragon K565 comes with. As an example: The Redragon K565 has software you can download to customize your LED colors for each key using HTML color values (red, green, and blue combinations) which makes things quite easy to setup while offering an endless variation of colors. The Black Shark keyboard has no software to install to make your life easier. Instead, you need to click some buttons while holding the Function key in order to get it in the correct mode and then you need to click each key multiple times to cycle through the 8 preset colors they have programmed into the keyboard to set each one, and with 104 keys on the keyboard it is NOT a quick task. My main reason for returning this item was because I could not set custom colors for my LEDs but had to use their 8 preset colors instead. I wanted a keyboard that was fully customizable and unfortunately this did not fit the bill for me. This is not to say the keyboard is bad. Quite the opposite. Considering the price, build quality, and features it is a great mechanical keyboard for the money. So, if you want something reasonably priced with blue switches, 8 preset LED colors, and an LED around the board itself that you can change the color of, then I highly recommend you buy this item. ... show more

  • INEXPENSIVE AND FUN
Size: 104-Key Layout Style: Blue Switch
So I never really leave reviews but I felt compelled because of how much I enjoy this product. I haven't had it for long, not even a full day, but so far I have been very impressed. To be honest I am not a gamer, but I do write. While my laptop has a great keyboard I wanted something a little extra and something fun. To be honest I just wanted the satisfying clacking sound and feeling of mechanial keyboard. This keyboard checks every box. It's realitively light butdoes not feel cheap or flimsy. The keys themselves are loud and tactile and just a pure joy to write on, and is very easy to just sit down and type. I found that I have not made a lot of mistakes (outside of my own bad spelling) or needed a grace period. While I find the lights distracting while typing that is admitidly a personal preference and when I'm not typing I do enjoy sitting and there and clicking through all the different options. Even though it hasn't been a full day yet I am very happy7 with this proudct, and I can't wait to see what I can create with this wounderful tool. ... show more

  • Solid and responsive, but a bit louder than expected
Size: 104-Key Layout Style: Blue Switch
I used it for a few days and it felt solid and responsive, but the key clicks were a bit louder than I expected, but no louder than other mechanical keyboards with those same switches. I have a few mechanical keyboard types I am trying out for longevity that are more expensive. Other than the slightly "clackier" keys on this keyboard, I didn't see much difference between it and more expensive ones. Pricewise I found it a great deal. ... show more
