I recently purchased these bird spikes and they have worked out well in the places I placed them. There were some gaps so the chickens were still able to perch on to the rabbit hutch. I ordered another set. They were easy to install. There are several spots for screws. One screw was enough per strip to keep them in place. They are made of thick plastic and seem strong and sturdy. They have no stickiness or any type of glue strips. They are all black with upside down cones that are very pointy. UPDATE: Vendor contacted me and offered a full refund. They were respectful and swift in communicating. Good service! The other two locations where I installed these spikes do not have nesting birds, so a partial success. Original review: These spikes don't work. I purchased the bird spikes. Installed them per included instructions, with adhesives, and in a tight pattern, no gaps. And a couple days later, not just a nest, but a nest with EGGS! Now I'm stuck with these flying rats until they grow up and move on. Dirty! Disappointing. Don't waste your money. ... show more

These are very nice and sharp. I believe a snake got into my birdhouse despite the baffle. So I got these to use in addition to the baffle. They look attractive and I think they will work. And I like the fact that they will break into three pieces in case you need smaller sections.

I live in the country and I have a deck in the back just off my kitchen. I keep the sliding door open in the summers until dark. I noticed when it would start to get dark a raccoon would come stand by my screen door because he would smell the food I was cooking. I started to see rips in my screen and a tear where the raccoon was climbing the screen and trying to get in. Walking on the spikes is not the favoite way to get to and from the bird feeder. But they do not hesitate when I chase them off the feeder. The alternative is a leap to a soft landing on a shrub which I have seen many times before. I tried multiple mounting configurations before giving up. The seller offered a refund but I declined. I think it should be up to the buyer to accept the limitations of a product like this. My replacement "OFFO Bird Spikes with Stainless Steel Base" has very limited impact on the behavior of my squirrels.
