BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Test from Abbott can be used to detect active infection, with or without symptoms. The rapid-result test is or personal use. See results in 15 minutes. The box includes 2 tests that are indicated for serial testing. Serial testing should be performed in individuals with negative results at least twice over three days (with at least 48 hours between tests) for symptomatic individuals and at least three times over five days (with at least 48 hours between tests) for asymptomatic individuals.

Tho the contents looked tacky (and tiny!) it turned out to be quite easy to use the kit and I have reason to believe results of both tests ( first was neg, second was +) were valid. My wife and 2 friend had prolonged close exposure to a couple who were both floridly ill and sat next to them on a bus ride. 4 days later my wife had abrupt onset of cough and congestion and tested positive (with a different test) - one of her 2 friends emailed to tell us that she experienced almost exactly the same , also positive on a rapid test. 3 days after my wife’s onset, I became ill ( we live in a small condo) and tested neg with the Binax kit - the next day I was sicker and 2nd test was unequivocally positive. Both of us recovered ( taking Paxlovid) and had no reason to take a convalescent test. None of this proves the validity of my test results, but it all makes sense epidemiologically. If unfortunate enough to need another test in the future, I would feel confident using this kit again. ... show more

Lay everyout in the test kit...READ the direction slowly twice, pay attention to which well the solution goes in....that was my first mistake and had to do it over. the card-and-stick method is slightly better than the drops-in-a-box method, I think. No test involving a nasal swab is pleasant, even if you do only need to stick that stick up there less than an inch. The only way to get a 5 star test kit would be a no-contact method, and that's not biologically plausible. I first starting using this product during the Covid Epidemic. Unfortunately, I am highly allergic to the influenza vaccines, so I couldn't risk a severe reaction with the Covid Vaccines. When my husband was a patient in an excellent nursing facility, I had to take this test daily, together with any staff who weren't vaccinated. And this facility used the Binax brand.
