Bought this to do a cam job on a dodge 3.6 in a mini van. For the back head (bank 1) this tool worked just fine. For the front head (bank 2) it didn't really work. The little L-shape tensioner release tool worked well. However the plastic tool to push the tensioner back didn't work. It wouldn't push it back to lock it open. This kit also doesn't come with the pin to lock the tensioner open. I used a screw driver to push it back and a paper clip to hold it open. This kit isn't a complete waste of money but this is what I had to do to get the job done. Update.....customer service reached out to me and said they're working on the issues with the kit. Like I said it's not a bad kit, just needed some improvements. Hopefully the next customers kit will be better. ... show more

Worked perfect only complaint is if you plan to use them multiple times in a mechanic shop the plastic gets ate up pretty quickly maybe 5 uses before needing replaced. But for the money it is to be expected and a great deal even for one use

Ive used this several times replacing rocker arms on 3.6 pentastar engines. This kit works well. Its a tight fit onto the cam gear but works perfectly

The teeth for the cam gears would not line up, had to use a dead blow to get it in. The tool for the right side would not disengage the timing chain tensioner. I do not recommend

As a 30 year ASE mechanic let me say this set does work, but has SEVERAL issues. Firstly, most of the kit is mislabeled. Cam phaser locks fit nice and tight, but you have to use the left lock on the right side of the engine and the right lock on the left side. The timing chain release tools do not lock down in place, they do relieve the tension temporarily, but you need a third hand if you intend on holding them down. That being said I was still able to relieve enough pressure to safely remove one camshaft at a time to replace rockers and lifters. Also, the 2011 tool is labeled as the 2012+ tool and vice versa on the other one. So if you know what you’re doing they can get the job done, but be aware and use caution so you don’t damage your engine. This is my first use so durability is hard to predict but I wouldn’t plan on using them a lot and the low price almost makes them disposable. ... show more
