I got this for my 22 month old's floor bed so the mattress wasn't sitting directly on the floor and can get some air flow. I have just a 14" queen mattress on it making it 20" high and he can easily get on and off. First, 5 stars for how quick and easy this thing is to put together. Its got 5 main pieces plus slats and 8 bolts. This will also make it really easy to take apart of you ever need to move it. 5 stars also for how sturdy it is, due to the design of basically being a box, I can't imagine it would ever break. There's just two issues with it - one is that it's a little too big for the mattress (this is the only reason I took off a star). You can see this in the picture, the mattress is centered on the frame. I've seen other reviews remarking this same thing. It seems to be a pattern with these types of frames because I have another metal one, different company, that is also slightly too big. The second issue is exacerbated by the first, the corners are pointy, not rounded. So since the frame is bigger than the mattress, you're definitely more likely to poke your shin. This same applies to the sides themselves, which you have 2 bars on the sides the top of the frame, and the bottom. The bottom is what makes it so sturdy but also makes you much more likely to stub your toe. I fixed this by putting the child proofing foam they make for things like hearths and tables on the corners and sides. Ultimately I'd highly recommend this especially for parents looking to give their toddler some independence with a floor bed. It's a great height to keep the mattress off the floor while still allowing them to get on and off without much effort. I would wait until they're confident in sleeping on a floor bed, though, because it is still an extra 6" drop if yours is still prone to rolling off in their sleep. ... show more

Came in as ordered with all parts needed to put together. Putting it together was straightforward. As of now seems like it's holding the weight of my bed nicely without making squeaking noises. Based on other reviews, put padding around the corners I'd be passing a lot to save my feet and shins from colliding with metal and that has come in handy more than once already. ... show more

This bed frame is solid and well built. It raises the mattress up off the floor the perfect amount! We did put our box springs on top of the frame, beneath the mattress, for height reasons; but the slats are close enough together that I cannot imagine that just placing a mattress on the frame would not also give a good night's sleep. ... show more
