The blanket is nice and soft and I like the pattern. The heat is good; I use 3 bars (out of 6) on the display and that's all I need. Any higher and my lap begins to roast. This is an "old style" blanket, so the wires can be felt and they are separated, leaving small areas that have no heat. For me, that's a total don't care, because they are close enough to each other that it works. The advantage to "old style" is that you don't have a massive brick of a power converter to haul around. This has the small controller that fits in one hand and weighs nothing. As with all electric blankets, how long it lasts is the big question - so far, so good after a few months. ... show more

I have back, neck and leg issues. Regular heating pads are not comfortable and don't cover enough. I do not like sleeping with heat, but I sit with this lovely throw every evening (sometimes during the day) watching tv/reading. It is lightweight, cozy, with just the right amount of heat, and the size (twin) is perfect! Even if you do not have muscular/skeletal issues, you will love this throw! We love this blanket! My kids are obsessed with it. We bought it for when my mother in law comes over and sleeps on an air mattress, the air is kind of cold so she uses this underneath and it works great. My only complaint is that sometimes just turns off with a blinking light and you can't turn it back on. So I have to unplug it from the blanket, turn the plug around the other way, and plug it back in. And it will even do it the other way, too, sometimes. So... it's great if you're awake and are paying attention. I could definitely see waking up cold if you sleep or nap with it on. ... show more

I bought two of these blankets and after one month they both stopped working. I call the Manufacturer and they told me it was a defective controller and they would send me a new controller. When I received I hooked up to the blanket and when I plugged it in it started to have a burning smell. Called the Manufacturer again and now they tell me the blanket is defective. Seems very coincidental that I buy two blankets and they are both defective, they said I could wait 10 day for a prepaid shipping tag, send it back and once they received they will mail me two new blankets. By that time it will be spring where I live and I won’t need a heated throw. Also, I won’t buy this brand again ... show more

"Why do you need an electric blanket when you're already so hot?" my silly wifey says. But there are two main 2 reasons why I chose this heated throw: 1) The auto-turn-off function is 10 hours which is much longer time period than most electric blankets offer. I prefer to stay warm ALL night, and the 2-4 hour auto-shut-off of other electric blankets has left me shivering at three or four in the morning or just before wake up time when the bedroom is coldest. (I know what you're thinking and, yes, it's too cold to reach out and turn it on again when I'm groggy, grumpy, and cold. Quit making difficult suggestions.) 2) The range of heat settings is wonderful. When I select level 2, the throw stays tepid, just around body temperature (you can feel a very slight warmth) which is ideal for me because , combined with how "hot" my wife says I am, I fear that more heat could cause the bed to spontaneously combust. On the other hand, if your room is freezing and you want to get into a cozy warm bed, level 3 or 4 is more than enough heat. Not sure why someone would need this baby turned on full blast unless they were trying to cook something in the bed. I fold this throw to about a 12 inch width and then run it under the fitted sheet along the foot of my bed to keep my feet warm. This is an excellent heated throw. Very pleased with this purchase. I received this throw blanket on 9/28/2021. It stopped working on 11/10/2021. Apparently returns/refunds are only handled by Biddeford, not Amazon. Getting in touch with them has been next to impossible. They do not answer emails and their phones are only answered during limited hours (10 AM-6 PM M-F)). After waiting on hold for about 10 minutes, the customer service representative was helpful. I actually have 2 of these throws and she had me test the controller for the working throw on the faulty one. It worked for about 60 seconds, then stopped and I could smell something burning. Now I have 2 non-working blankets! They will send a replacement blanket when they receive the faulty one back and a new controller for my older throw. It seems like a lot of work for heated throw but, in their defense, my older throw was great until we tested the controller on the faulty throw. Update: The Biddeford folks never sent me a return label. They are almost impossible to reach by telephone and they do not answer emails. I have tried to call multiple times and I'm always put on hold for the next available representative - no matter what time of day that I call. Eventually they hang up on me after waiting on hold for 20-25 minutes. I am so frustrated with their customer service. I'll never purchase again but the blanket/throw only worked for 6 weeks and I feel ripped off. Also, the one time that I got through, I blew up the controller for the other blanket/throw that I own when I followed their instructions to test the working controller on the faulty blanket/throw. So now I have 2 blanket/throws that do not work and they should replace both BUT I CANNOT REACH A LIVE PERSON ON THEIR PHONE LINE AND THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS. UPDATE - Biddeford customer service is definitely slow but they did replace my faulty heated throw & the controller for my other one. I received my new throw yesterday, 1/15/2022 - almost 2 months after they promised a replacement. The new controller came a few days after the new year. I know companies are having a difficult time hiring & keeping staff. Maybe that is the reason that it took so long for resolution. Anyway, I hope the new throw works longer than the one it replaced. ... show more
