The pump was supposed to be brand new but when I got the pump you can tell it was not. You can tell someone just threw all the attachments in the box with a broken part. There was also missing parts having me to use my hoses I already had from me old pump. The pump did have great suction and powerful output on till a year later and will not do anything! I've used this pump for about 3 weeks now. The flow has been great for our 5,000 gal pool, and performed mich better than the last one. A few days ago, I noticed a leak coming from the jet connection. When I unscrewed it, I noticed that the threads were warped. Fortunately, I had a backup, which has reaolved the issue. A couple of days later, I walked to the pump to find a large pool of water on the ground. Now my Y-splitter is leaking on one of the threads. No matter how tight the fitting is, it still leaks. I'm now having to figure out a DIY solution to correct the leak. The fittings are incredibly cheaply made. If you get this pump, plan on having to fix leaky fittings. ... show more

I have a bestway above ground pool that comes with a 1000gph pump. I upgraded to this 1500 gph pump which is great. Comes with hoses larger than the ones that come with the pump above. I would like to have a vertical shut off valve that fits this new larger hose, but could only find the one below it SAYS it will fit 1.5" threaded hose but it does NOT. MASCARRY Above Ground Pool Parts, Plunger Valves for Pools Replacement Parts, Pool Pump Part with On Off Plunger Valves, 1.5" Outlet Strainer & Inlet. The part that pertrudes from this valve does NOT fit inside the threaded tubing that comes with the 1500 pump above. If anyone knows of a different valve that would work let me know. I looked for adapters but nothing threaded that will go from 1.5 to 1.25 threaded hose. The box says some adapter is included but not sure what they are talking about i did not get any adapters.
