The setting of the times is so nice and easy because of the "pins." To test our set up the on/off switch that you can use worked, as well. Yes, you read that correct. The instructions tell us to keep this more than four feet above the ground, for it to be rated for outdoor use. The spring-loaded cover on the timing-switches does not open to a 90° position. This makes it difficult to set/reset the switches. It is constantly trying to close, as we raise (to turn off) or lower (to turn on) the timing switches (30 minute intervals). Warmth is N/A - this is an electrical timer. Thickness is also N/A. Had this item in hand for about 30 seconds before it broke. I got it, opened it, started popping tabs up to set it. Three popped out, only recovered two. This is a crappy, cheap product. Spend the money on one with a digital display and you won’t be mega disappointed like I am.

When we were getting ready to go on a trip, I had to find something that could handle the lights and maintain the time schedule. This was rated high and was supposed to be heavy duty enough for outdoors. Bought it, and it worked great. Did the job with absolutely no problem. It has 3 sockets which allows you to easily connect multiple lawn inflatables, lights, decorations, etc. It's the standard rotary timer that activates during the time you've set using the pre-set pins you leave up. It works well, but if the power goes out, then that will affect the actual on-off times as there's no backup power like some electronic timers. Very happy with my purchase for the Halloween decorations. Running about 4 different strands of string lights and some some inflatable character about 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide. Set it to turn on daily at 5:30PM and off around 10PM and it's been working perfectly for the last 3 nights.
